Please take one second
And realize that the people in Jamaica have a forcasted catagory 5 hurricane to hit them. Just take a second out of your day and send a prayer up for them. I have a bad feeling about this one.

I agree, we all need to pray for them. If anyone here is in Jamaica, spread the word and help out a MASSIVE preparation effort tomorrow (Saturday).

Thanks hicksta. A good reminder. I've been praying tonight every time I watch the satellite loops.
In case its of interest, I posted some prayers I've found helpful, on an earlier thread:

Lord have mercy on those in this storm's path, we pray.

My prayers are definitely with those in the path. I'll have that radio station linked up on the computer until the storm passes.
I surely hope Dean misses Jamaica!

Prayer for those in the path..
This is a prayer for Jamaica and the Caymans as well as those for the Yucatan..
"Dear father.. I ask that u please protect those in the islands and in the path of the storm.. please watch over the people of these countries, give them strength, courage and the calmness knowing u r watching over them even as the winds swirl and cause destruction".. "Please protect them after the storm passes and they clean up.. protect from injuries and un-necessary deaths and fatalities"..
"Please also help us in the US and show us ways to help the victims of the storms if we fell led to do so"..
This prayer I ask in ur holy name.. Amen

Re: Prayer for those in the path..
I extend my prayers to all those in the path of this storm.
I really hope and pray that God helps people through the suffering
that may come of this.
I ask God to please protect these people and their families.

A prayer I found online 2 years ago. I love its wording:
O Lord, King of the Universe, master of the winds and the rain, be with those this day who are facing the hurricane’s wrath. Succor those who are in fright, be with those who are trying to save lives, open the hands of those whose generosity is needed to help. O Lord, Master of the wind and the rain, be with those, and if possible, let this storm weaken. Remember we are your children. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
