Replacing "Dean"

Dean has become a very powerful storm over the Eastern Caribbean Sea. A lot of damage has occurred in some of the Lesser Antilles islands and as the hurricane impacts the Greater Antilles the damage will be much extensive. Therefore, it's very possible "Dean" will be retired at the end of the season and I just want to create a thread about possible names that would replace "Dean."

Remember that "Dean" is an English male name, and by rule it can only ne replaced by an English male name. Good options are short, easy to pronounce names.

I propose Derek in honor of our most esteemed Pro Met. He has done a wonderful service by making his constant posts to the "Dean" thread, not to mention his daily insights. However, the name Dick is certainly fitting. Please...no offense meant to those who go by that name.

Daniel couldn't be used as it is an active EPAC name. Dan and Danny can't be used either. Donny also can't be used because Don replaced Dennis.

Derek would be a good name. Dale might also work.
