Hurricane Dude has strengthened to 185mph this morning. But that's okay, cause it's just Dude! He's cool.

I can see it now.

Deathstar. Definitely Deathstar.

I also like Dick and Donnie. Dylan would also be good.

LOL, unfortunately, Don is on the 2011 list, too similar.

For a real doozy, sitting out there just waiting to hit, somehow "Damocles" seems appropriate!

Cheers

We can also use names from other basins except the EPAC:

Northern Australia: Dominic

Western Australia: Daryl, Damien

After more than a week of constant watching and little sleep, we should vote for a name, go to the WMO meeting next spring, and lobby as much as possible for that name to be the replacement!!!

That would be so cool!!!

based upon what I have seen so far, this has done less overall damage than Emily did. Thus, it, IMO, does not qualify for retirement (if we are using consistent retirement rules). Yes, it struck as a cat 5, but the cat 5 winds primarily were confined to a wildlife preserve

Now, I fully expect this to change by tomorrow when the destructive landfall occurs

I just can't imagine a landfalling Cat 5 not getting retired, no matter where it hit. They are SO rare. I wonder if it might get retired for the Caribbean damage alone(especially Martinique and St. Lucia).

Oh and I'm still confused as to why Emily wasn't retired...
