Just a lighter note. Today's visiting priest (who looks and sings like Burl Ives) intoduced himself today and stated that this is his 25th year of comming here and he has had to evacuate only eight times so far. He will be here through next Sunday, we are hoping for eight times in twenty six years next year. Looks like we'll get it.

btw, I know you in the x and y generation won't know who Burl Ives is, just ask you parents.

Burl Ives, beautiful high voice. Have a "holly, jolly" hurricane season! Also, eight times in twenty five years is a pretty good clip. Compare it to say Miami. For all of the talk of that city being in hurricane country, most of their storms are "back door" storms coming from the Gulf, having already crossed a significant stretch of land. I wouldn't think that the citizens of Miami have had to evacuate very often at all in the last 25 years.
