We're still in the 90's here but I have noticed that the length of sunshine is getting shorter every week. Maybe in about a month we'll see our first significant cool down of the season.

Great to see that I am not imagining Fall approaching. See, in Florida.. change is ever so gradual and ever so slight. So, when I mention I FEEL Fall in the air in the evenings, I don't mean that the evenings are getting cold or nippy.. just a heck of lot more comfortable then has been and for us that means Fall is coming. We don't normally get a cold front that knocks us into the low 80's untill end of October and into November. I am looking forward to lower humidity and temperatures anywhere in the 80's. LOL

We're both here, even on the same day. Last Saturday the official low was 32, but the official high was 90. Can't figure out if that is summer or Fall weather.

Well, it's still pretty hot...only reason it's much cooler in New Orleans is because we have seen increased clouds. With that said, I certainly feel like we peaked about two weeks ago with Summer and we can slowly see temperatures head downward just a tad from here on out until we get our first good front. Hopefully that will happen in about 3 weeks. We'll see.

They had an EF3/EF4 in Eastern NoDak. Very rare for this time of year as their peak tornado season ended about two or three weeks ago.

I posted one of these on another thread, but speaking of fall, here are some new snow photos from Colorado taken last Thursday (August 23):

Of course, the snow is already melted and didn't last long.

We're FINALLY in a span of comfortable weather - low 80's after tomorrow and lower humidity. It looks like it's going to last through Labor Day weekend.

I mentioned this in another thread in OT, but I have noticed, already, spiders making their webs around the neighborhood. BIG spiders. I normally don't see that for another month. There's also a lot of cobwebs on my shrubs.

It's still in the 90s here in DFW, and I don't think it's gonna cool down until October.

We're supposed to warm up from 89 2 days ago (which was still above average) to the 95-96 range this week (which is only a few degrees below the records). This is the summer that just won't quit (July was the hottest month on record, and August will either be the hottest or 2nd-hottest August on record).

What's funny is that the dog day cicadas were about two-three weeks later than normal this year. They didn't get going until just recently up here...usually they start up in mid July and buzz their way into August before croaking.
