Where do I go to see where the jet stream is?
I wanted to see an image or a moving image of where the Jet Stream is currently. I want to be able to watch it over time to see it drop down. Anyone know where I can do this?

Taffy:
Water vapor satellite imagery generally resolves mid and upper level features like "the" jet stream (there are really many), well. When I want to watch the jet in action, that's where I go.

Well, I am a bear of very little brain and I so want to learn. I went to the vapor image thing and that was cool, but I was not seeing what I expected. All I could see was half the country and east ward. From what I could gather from all the swirls is that there seems to be a high ridge in the Jet Stream up over Michigan and in the east. Is that correct?

Go to http://www.atmo.arizona.edu and click on weather products and then Maps and Charts and you will find a WV loop of the US overlaid with the 500 mb contour pattern-it was designed by Computer geeks and not atmo students so the H's and L's are reversed color. Otherwise if you want to see the wind pattern and axis only. you need to look at the upper air analyses and loops for the levels of 300 mb on up.
