That's Typhoon Wayne, which killed over 70 people.

That track looks like one of those fake tracks that some people here like to make up.

Wow, I never thought I'd see this thread again. This was the first thread I ever created. Good times. I gotta say, I've been making hypothetical hurricanes for a while (not doomsday storms, just fake ones) and I haven't been able to dream up a track crazier than Typhoon Wayne's. God must have been bored.

Edit: HOLY GEEZ! I'm a category three as of this post! 800! Woo!

Mine would have to be Katrina. I sat here that night in Aug and watched it smell out the water in the everglades of Fla and went out though the tip of fla. It was to go out though Ft Myers on the west coast. The NHC didn't have a clue to what was happing that night. I think they stood there holing their hands to their face.

That was an interesting night. The storm actually strengthened over the Everglades and moves more WSW to SW then the NHC had ever expected. That was because the ridge of high pressure to the north was much stronger then the models (moste of them) thought.

I agree.

Although Gordon and Helene from 06 are interesting, to me at least, since they were tropical until the pretty close to the UK (well, Ireland)

Dorey 1967...headed straight at Delaware from the east as a cat 1....we got evacuated and it went south.
Image

Four years later another Doria went straight over us as a strong TS. we didn't get evacuated and there was something akin to an eye passage.

I remember Doria. It caused a fair amount of tree and branch damage in Massapequa, NY, where I lived at the time.

I thought this was a NASCAR thread, and I was going to say bristol before they repaved it. Lot more fun when it was a one groove track.

Kyle, from a few years ago, had an interesting life, IIRC.
