Having a category 5 in a season is not a joke.


I'm with you. I said that for the people "I want something more exciting than Dean", or "this season is so slow".

Way too far north and east to form anything tropical. That is at 45°N, and the water is way too cold there. It should remain extratropical. When was the last time a system formed north of 40°N?

I've been looking at this for a while... this looks like the same low that was posted about a few days ago. It looks to be in the same exact spot!

So what happen to the other ULL?

do you think this one has more convection with it.

This one looks better than 96L :) Maybe I'm pushing it but it's had that same position and persistant blob of convection around the center for days!

This low (and the last one) isn't a ULL. It's a weak extratropical surface low with associated front. I wouldn't expect too much more from this as it's over 17-18C waters.

Epsilon had hot tub waters compared to this.

98L soon?

This seems more like something that would form in 2005! With everything that happened, one of the few things missing was a high-latitude tropical storm...
