Given the NHC's more conservative handling of these storms, it'll be placed at 120 or 125 mph at 2 PM, IMHO.

Is the Northeastern part of the GOM out of the woods with Felix. The larger this storm gets im curious if it could end up to be a cat5 if any fronts or troughs can keep it from steering one way or another?

LOL, well with Dean when it became a major they did this too. Issued a special advisory at 1:45 to supercede the 2.

I fully expect a Cat 4 soon.

This is a bombshell of a statement from Jeff Masters. Texas, pay CLOSE attention to what will likely be a catastrophic hurricane very soon. This is a serious situation developing right now as Felix is still undergoing rapid intensification.

Meanwhile on cable news it's apparently on an "unpredictable path"

Maybe in 4 days...

HOLY CRAP! I leave for about an hour and this thing is one the verge of being a Cat-4! I hope the people in Central America are prepared right now! Wow, in just 48 hrs Felix went from a TD to now nearly a Cat-4 Hurricane!

As long as the networks don't repeat the debacle of covering Dean's Yucatan landfall. That was the worst TV journalism I had seen in a while.
