Down here in Polk County it is over 4.89 a gallon in the grocery stores. I don't buy it any more unless it is on sale for less than 4.00. If I use milk in cooking a recipe I use the milk in boxes that are equal to one cup and are packaged 3 boxes to a strip package. My grandson is at the point now where he will ask for a glass of milk and then will not drink it (at breakfast)so it makes me mad at him for wasting it like that.

Ditto for our grandson. I just give him a quarter of a glass.

I thought that it was the price of gasoline going up, but not sure. Ours is high too. I don't know how a family with three or four children can afford it.

i get a 4 litre jug of milk (a gallon) for $ 4.29 Canadian at a local convenience store. Everywhere else the price is higher than that, which is why i buy it at the convenience store.

The price for milk at the Wal-mart I work for is $4.19 BUT thats for the store brand. If you want the up scale milk try $5.99 per gallon!!!!!!!!!!The reason for the high prices is because of Ethanol gas.Think about it.What do they feed diary cows???Corn grains. So now the price is higher to feed there cows so we take the cost not them.

Around here for a gallon it's about $3.50. I only buy it for the hubby, I don't drink it so a gallon may last a little over a week.

I have 3 kids, and they go through about a gallon a day. I have been getting my milk at a new store in town that has been keeping the price down ( I think to draw in customers ). It was $2.49 a gallon! But that was only for the first week or so, now it is $3.49. All the other stores are more like $3.79 or more. I am going to have to go back to work just to pay for milk!

Well I wasn't even sure what the price of milk was, I thought it was still around $3.89 for Publix brand. Just home from the grocery and its more like $4.29, if you want TGLee its gonna be close to 5 bucks!!!! Even worst is Ice Cream, my whole family loves dairy products and can go through a gallon of milk and half gallon of Ice Cream in 2 days! Ice cream is about 6 bucks for a half gallon, if it ani't on sale I get the cheap publix brand thats in the old school cardboard container for $3.50. I also limited milk intake here, more with hubby than the kids. He could drink a gallon a day.

It's 3.50 a gallon here, and I haven't noticed any sort of rise in the price recently. It's been around that for a long time. Maybe I'm just in a lucky area?

I don't drink milk ever, so I haven't noticed.

At my school though I noticed the Coke machines went from .50 to .75, and I heard that a carton of milk might increase to .50 from .25.

$3.99 at Publix and Albertson's here. I don't mind, it's still way cheaper than baby formula! :)

A gallon of milk is more than a gallon of gas! $4.99 in my neck of the woods.

I went to the grocery store yesterday afternoon and spent 100.00 on things that were neither milk or meat. Canned goods and other things needed to feed 5 people for two weeks. I only get paid once every two weeks. So I have to purchase foods for that length of time. In summer time, lunches are usually very small, soup and a sandwich. Nightly meals are a little more , a meat and two veggies and maybe a salad to round it out.
This morning I went to a local meat market to get my meats. I spent 71.00 there and got more meat than I could have gotten in the local grocery store 1 mile from my house. But I didn't even look at the milk price so I walked right out the door with out any.
