Houston is far from out of the woods.

I still wouldn't take a NNW movement out of the mix yet, less likely, but not out of the question at this point.

Yea, it looks like much of Houston may escape with only a drop or two of rain.

While it could be much worse, Houston will not escape. Southeastern portions of Houston are already begginging to see some heavy rainfall which continues to progress into the city.

I'm in extreme SE Harris County and we are having far from heavy rains, sun has actually peaked through the clouds to west occassionally. At this point, an inch or two inside the beltway.

Do you have any thoughts as to why the TPC didn't increase the winds at 7 p.m. CDT? Reconnaissance data supported sfc winds near ~55 mph, and there were estimates near ~50 kts at the surface. Additionally, there were winds near ~60 kts at 860 mbar. The dropsonde data supported stronger sfc winds (~51 kts). Did the plane utilize SFMR for the outbound sfc wind measurement? I'm concerned that the TPC may earn some mild criticism about their decision.

Where in southeastern Houston? I see light rain to moderate southeast OF Houston and heavier rain toward Galveston, but nothing really in Houston.

I agree, it's hard to believe when looking at the satellite presentation that this is only a 50mph TS. :?:
I'm very curious to see what the winds are at 10pm

I'm just looking at the radar which shows a healthy line of storms entering Clear Lake and extreme South Houston.

Humberto looks very impressive. Also, it is small. I don't expect it to get larger.
