ticka1...hope you get some relief from the back spasms. Bad enough to have the pain, but to have pain and be restricted on a summer weekend is not a good thing.

A final busy day at work to prepare to close out the fiscal year Monday. Been a crazy week for us.

Looking forward to my to-do list this weekend...and nothing else. With temps nearing 110, most of that list is projects indoors.

My boys are in a golf tournament in Palm Springs this weekend. Tee times at 1 pm! Probably be 115 for them! They've learned all the tricks of dealing with heat, but this one will be a challenge.

Take care and enjoy your Friday.

Good Morning!

WHEW.....wasn't around after the morning posts, we had a HUGE job to do yesterday, ya know......for someone who earns a living working outside in the sun I'd learn by NOW to use the sunscreen but NOOOoooooo  my ears are *well done* "LOL!" *sigh* maybe someday I'll learn (I doubt it!)

Playing golf in 115° weather :o Here I thought I was a dedicated golfer! I can't even imagine the forecast 110° temp Steve, no wonder the mountian top is FULL.......

We hit a high of 93° here at the house yesterday, for us......THAT'S HOT! I drank OVER a gallon of water out on the job yesterday, sad part is, I never had the urge for the *call of nature*, that's NOT GOOD.....signs of dehydration they say.

Josh, cool pic  take care my friend, let us know what the sawbones said about the foot!

Not much else to report this early a.m., fixing to go hit the *links* (0700 tee time) AH YES......a temp of 62° right now with NO WIND  Make it a GREAT day would ya's?

Dennis

Oppps......howdy to everyone I missed!

Morning everyone!!

Dennis, you didn't say howdy to me!! I am hurt. LOL... just kidding! I echo Dennis' sentiments that if I don't acknowledge or say Hey or something, I am not being rude I just don't have enough time or space to say Hi! to everyone. I try to spread it out and leave no one out.

Kelly you said that the tapes melted?? :o Did you try to fry an egg on the sidewalk as well? It usually gets that warm here around mid-July. I can hardly wait.

Ticka -- I hope you get your problem solved and you should let yourself have the rest of the day off. You deserve! Get to feeling better soon!

Enjoy your Friday everyone,
Garrett :multi:

Hey Dennis.....thought about your playing golf in 115 temp...and it brough tback memories of my only visit to Arizona. The place was Yuma...perhaps you've been there. It was May and the temps were in the 1 teen's all week. They had only had about .50" of rain in the last year and you had to keep your windows cracked in your car for fear they would explode...

Anyway...back to golf. Played on one of those "hot" days and it still doesn't compare to 95 deg and Humid in SC. I do remember my nose hurting when breathed in that fresh air though!

Oh yeah...back to golf....are roadrunners a common bird on the courses down there? That is my most vivid memory. They were all over the course! I thought they were the coolest birds...nothing like I ever imagined. I was just waiting for them to go beep? beep!

Howdy!

"DANG.........it's HOT!" Don't know how hot Steve, Dj and SteveB are right now, I hit a 95° here at the house!!!! I went into my workshop for something a little bit ago, I forgot to crack a window, it's 114° in there!!!!!!!

NOW........Bow before the GREAT golfer "LOL!" J/K.....I hit a 89 today WOOOOOOHOOOOOO! Not to bad for someone who's only been at the game 2 months huh? I hit birdie after birdie today! BEGINNERS luck, right??? Actually, since day one, my short game is AWESOME, seriously, not to brag or nuthin', reckon I've just the the touch, on the other hand, my drives............"PHFFFT!" I still have a wicked, wicked slice *sigh*

Speaking of golf.........j, that wasn't me playing in 115° weather, that was Azskymans son doing that, you wouldn't catch me DEAD on the course in those kinda temps, actually, I WOULD BE DEAD in that heat "LOL!" Ever see a snowman in temps above 60°??

Well, off to the driving range here in a sec........see...........I am so HOOKED on the game, I'm SICK, I'm possesed I swear!

Been concentrating a lot of my online (at home), efforts into creationism debating. And I got rid of Kazaa Media Desktop. I would suggest everyone else do the same!

I've been trying to get my home recording setup going. And we are planning to release our CD around the end of July if everything goes ok. I'll let y'all know. In the mean time you can access our pastor's messages online at

http://www.lifepointministries.com/mini ... /index.php

But I must worn you, he preaches straight out of the bible! :D (Is there another way?? )

We are still working on the site.

Whoa! Big thunderclap and close! Better shut the pc down before the storm does!

God Bless and I love every stinkin' one O' yas!

I removed Limewire from my PC as well. Don't want to have to pay a fine.

Glad to see that the Front Porch is a little more active today! :)

A beautiful afternoon here in SW MO as I went out and swam this afternoon. The pool, thankfully, was snake-free.

Everyone have a good Friday evening,

I'm back everyone. :D It's nice to be back home. :)

LimeWire shouldn't be bad if you listen to the music offline. :D Just don't download anything else. If they do catch you, it's just a warning, then delete it all. ;)

101F here at the house with a lot of smoke drift from the two fires to the NW. Thunderstorms to the east but the chaseable ones were just too far east to get to in any reasonable amount of time.

Hi Steve...noticed those CB tops from N to S today...but not so prevalent down your way. Can we expect to see those along the eastern border a little more often now?

We're at 110 in my back yard today. If there is really someone out there who says the like THAT kind of heat, it would have to be someone who sells ice, A/C, or pools.

I once knew a snowman named Puddles who lived down here, Dennis. Heard rumors of another over there by the mountains named Lon Gone.

Any relation?

Good Morning!

Tis a FINE day dawning here in the White Mountains, sitting at 47°, heading for a forecast high of 93° WITH the possibility of a isolated thunderstorm, what's that??? As long as there's rain with it, that would be GREAT, I'm afraid it's gonna be *dry lightning*

The hummerbirds are here in full force, I'm filling the feeders once a day now, that's half a gallon of nectar a day :o we're using 5#'s of sugar every 3 days now.

Had a wonderful conversation with streetsoldier last night, glad things are going well for you Brother

Well, reckon it's that time..........time to hit the driving range before the heat cranks up and it gets crowded, I have never seen so many ppl in all my life, GEEEESH! Course with temps in the 110's, I can't blame ppl ONE BIT for coming up here, 95° is a WHOLE heck of a lot better than Steves 110 :o Take care and make it a WONDERFUL day would ya? May the Good Lord Bless and Keep You!

Good Morning all.............haven't been to the porch in a few days now and I have missed it.

As most of you know, my oldest son was accepted to Florida State University in the fall. We have orientation Monday morning and were supposed to leave about an hour ago for Tallahassee to enjoy a little down time before the festivities start. Well, about 4:30 this morning, there was this loud banging on my front door, I opened it and a cop was standing there asking me if I was Timothy's mom, I said yes, terrified at this point. They said I needed to come with them because they were taking him to jail and I needed to get my car. While a sense of relief flooded me, I then saw everything we have worked so hard for going down the drain. It is a very long story, but he had been drinking (he is 18 yrs old) and there were quite a few of them together and they found pot in my car (not mine) :) To make a long story short, he is being booked right now and I am waiting to find out if and when I can get him out. I am sure he is rather frightened right now and part of me is glad for that. This is the last orientation there is at FSU for the fall term and if we miss it, he won't be able to start. He is going on an academic scholarship and has worked very hard to get it. I am very frightened right now not to mention, angry, tired, sad and a host of other feelings. I ask for your prayers that we get through this with the least amount of residual affects. This is going to be a very long day for me but I have faith that God will get me through this the way He hass gotten me through all the other messes in my life. I am also going to post this on the main board, I need all the prayers I can get right now.

Sandi :)

Good morning friends!

Sandi - I did post to your prayer request topic - I hope everything works out for you and your son and that this is the wakeup call that he needed!

Dennis - Sounds like we have a golf pro on our hands!

We just had "Uncle Al" come by to groom our pets. My cats aren't too happy right now!

Ticka - I hope your back is doing better!

Kazaa?? What's Kazaa? :o

It really isn't something that people (like myself) should be doing. I think it may behoove the record companies to perhaps set up websites of their own and charge a nominal fee to download songs. Most people are usually just looking for that one song that they've always liked, but don't want to purchase the album.

It's supposed to go into the mid-80's today with lower humidity. It actually feels pretty nice right now. I'm going to get some sun today - I can't believe how white I am1

Everyone have a great day!

Afternoon porchers! :)

The skies are cloudy, I have been grocery shopping, yard saling, watered the plants, and alas it is too cool to enjoy the swimming pool. Thought I would chill out on the front porch for a few minutes.

It looks like the tropics are becoming more active. You should go to WeatherCentral and check out the latest info. Very informative! :) Kudos to all that keep us updated.

David -- it looks like you have lost the title as the Storm2K golf guru. ;) Dennis, way to go buddy!

Sandi, you are still in my thoughts and prayers along with your son.

Afternoon,

Good afternoon from the West Coast everyone. :D I slept in till 11:30 am or so. On the weekends I love sleeping as much as possible. ;)

It is just now clearing up outside. The blasted low clouds came back this morning after being gone for 3 days. The locals say they could leave again by around July 4th - talk about timing! And to top that off, there may be a warming trend to boot!

I have some good news but I will save it for another thread. You will be happy to hear it. :D

I had the X rays on my ankle yesterday morning and as of yet I have not heard the results. I will let you all know as soon as I hear something. :D

Have a great weekend everyone. Joshua
