http://www.weather.com/weather/map/interactive/77080?from=36hour_map_large&zoom=7&interactiveMapLayer=radarZoom it in and recenter it.
Will be landfalling at High Island within a couple of hours. it is only a little offshore now. I never had an idea that we would have Hurricane Humberto when this first started!!!

Large area of TS force winds in the NE quad right now . . . and max FL winds are about the same as they were before.

So I saw . . . I think 990 is in the realm of possibility, but seeing that no drops or VDMs have come in . . . I'm getting a little impatient here 8-)

After watching this system since September 6th, I must say that it has been interesting to watch unfold.

Just shows how much intensity forecasting continues to be a huge hurdle.

13? hours to cat1 and it looks like it would keep on strengthening if it weren't about to run face first into a land mass. Oy vey.

Yeah. And I think we're just about at landfall right now too. Looks like Chambers/Jefferson County line (worst of the weather in Jefferson Co. obviously).

I can't believe, last night at this time we were watching banding developing on radar and wondering hmmmm what's going on during the satellite eclipse. Wake up to a depression in the morning and now going to bed to hurricane. AMAZING what can happen with tropical weather.

I was watching this "form" last night on radar during the eclipse... as the first rainbands started forming from nothing.

It was but a tiny speck in the GOM about this time last night. Now I have a hurricane bearing down on me.

Unfreakingreal!

Quite a good size area of TS winds . . . extends about 5nm east of the TX/LA border, and very much on the coast.

I am in Nederland, TX, right next to Port Arthur...is there going to be any tornado activity? I have seen several people say that this area would be hit real hard.....just would like to know exactly what with?

I'm no expert but tornadoes are very common with Hurricanes. Not to scare you but I lost my house to a tornado during Rita.
