Hurricane Isabel hit the North Carolina coast.

It was a wild Thursday, 50mph wind gusts and blinding rain that night.

I still see hundreds of reminders of that storm in the forests everywhere around here. Very bad storm for timber loss.

 Nah, didn't go to school today. Lucky me got to experience the wonders of dialated eyes after going to the eye docter. Since I only have 2nd, 3rd, and 4th periods...I ended up going to the docters office at roughly 9:45, sat in there until 11 am and couldnt see straight for most of the day, let alone be able to stand bright lights. (2, 3, 4 periods go from 9:25 am to 2:45 pm) but I did go to driver's ed afterschool. Yeah...in order to drive the de car, you have to pass the vision test, well I failed with flying colors yesterday (only one eye is "bad" though), so thats why I got to go today. Docter said he's been practicing for 16 years and said I was the weirdest case he has ever seen. My eye is perfectly fine (per him) and I *should* have 20/20 vision, but it is 20/80. He said it was like looking into two different peoples' eyes from my right to left eyes. So I'll get glasses, but there is no way to truely fix it. I always knew I was weird, that was just the icing on the cake though!

I am assuming you meant 150 mph winds as 50 mph winds would not really do any damage that would still be visible today as NCHurricane said. Also wouldn't cause too much worry. On the other hand 150 mph would cause damage, concern and lingering effects.

I remember the Phils trying to get their game in that day, playing at 1 PM in front of more blowing trash than fans. It was my first 'hurricane' (although the only effects here were TS winds) since I moved to the East Coast in 2001.

I remember, they played the Marlins. They won the game too.

It never rained until that night, the game was played in the afternoon before then.

uhhh no.

Think about it, Isabel was at 105mph at landfall. And I was 400 miles from the center.
