Possible F5 tornadoes around the world

#1 Postby HurricaneBill » Wed Sep 19, 2007 7:41 pm

Since the Elie, Manitoba tornado recently became Canada's first confirmed F5, I figured I'd post tornadoes around the world that are suspected of being possible F5s.

These tornadoes were analyzed by an authorative source as being F5 or possibly F5.

August 19, 1845 Monville, France

June 1, 1927 Neede, Netherlands

July 20, 1931 Lublin, Poland

July 1, 1935 Benson, Saskatchewan, Canada

July 15, 1940 Borzymmen (Borzymy), Mazury, Poland

June 17, 1946 Windsor, Ontario, Canada

August 20, 1946 Klodzko Slaskie, Poland

June 16, 1957 Robecco Pavese, Valle Scuropasso, Italy

May 20, 1960 Nechobrz, Poland

June 1, 1927, Neede (Netherlands) probably was F4 according to the KNMI.

There also were tornadoes in the Netherlands on August 1, 1674. Some churches were destroyed or badly damaged, including the Utrecht cathedral. But it's hard to tell if it was F5.

there is another one in Germany that is analyzed as a F4 and may have been a F5 Tornado:

July 15, 1936 Wiepkenhagen, Germany

Carrots and stones were lifted and carried away, a dog was found about 2.5 miles from its earlier position.
