Atlantic shear
I was just wondering, for comparison purposes, is the shear that we have in the Atlantic this year more than usual, average, or below average? It just seems like all of our invests/tropical storms have had to deal with major shear including Karen as we speak so that's why I pose the question. And certainly, for a La nina year, this shear is surprising or is it to be expected even in La Nina years?

The one item I heard on TWC earlier this year was that of an atmospheric scientist (I don't know who or from where), who speculated that Global Warming would somehow increase shear, which, if true, would enforce the long-standing belief when it comes to nature's compensating nature (pardon the double entendre), since Global Warming is speculated to increase hurricane intensity - while also possibly increasing shear (according to the person they quoted), which would weaken an intense hurricane, so, if this theory were true, then, even La Nina years would be subject to shear of some intensity...
