Well that is nearly what always happens Gatorcane, just got to show a bit of patience though sometimes even when things don't look like they are getting going!
This season everything has came in twos...Barry and Chantal, Erin and Dean and now 'maybe' Humberto and Td8/future Ingrid.

Humberto has formed a full 10 days before 2001's Humberto and if Td8 is upgraded in the next 2 days we will be quite a way ahead of 2001, which had 15 named storms...so we are well on track for 13-15 named storms. As for ACE, much may depend on exactly what TD8 decides to do, could easily see 20-40 out of this system

Every time I see posts like this I just shake my head. How many years do you have to come in here or watch the tropics to realize wishful thinking or declaring a season dead is pretty silly especially when your doing it this time of year. About the only thing posts like these tell anyone is who is here for the thrills and who is here to be serious. Anyone seriously into tropical cyclones would already consider this season a major hit considering two long tracking CAT 5's to watch and study. The fact that they didn't wipe out some part of the U.S. I do realize is a disappointment for some and an even bigger disappointment they didn't come to them. Sad very very sad.

hmmmmm

how about TD 8...looks like I smell BIG bust coming and a huge let down for this board.

Again all bark and no bite. Should have stuck to my guns and not even given it a chance....

Fall is coming quick this year....I'm not sure how much longer we will see any CV storms.

Gatorcane remember my last post...don't write off somethnig till the circulation is compeltely cgone, look at how long 90L had to wait to develop and yet when it did it went bang pretty quickly.

Even if Td8 doesn't form...we did just have our first hurricane since late 2005 make landfall in the USa from what 36hrs was pretty much a load of convection!
I think that had quite a bite to it!

Having a calm season is great in my book! But then I am looking at humberto and how quick he formed. Woo!

Yeah that seems to have been the way its gone this season so far, tohugh for the next few days the E/C Caribbean looks every bit as hostile as the rest of the Atlantic.

By the way the one thing you can say aobut this season, we've been sploit for fast developers, the fastest ever TD-Cat-5 hurricane ever and the fastest TD-hurricane ever, as well as two cat-5 landfalls...if the season were to end today I think it would have been a rather interesting season, even though it did have some rathe rugly systems at times as well.

Some possible bites for for stormcrazy:
1. td 8
2. the front moving off the east coast with
some likely development (see the other thread
on this).
not specifying any locations, but we got some bites
coming folks.

Wouldn't call it a TUTT year. It's been off and on as is usually the case when we're in La Neutral.

Btw, they need to bring back the thread ratings feature. Sorry Gator, you're a good poster, but this thread gets 1 star all the way. :)

You got that right! And there "ain't no fat lady singing" yet. The rapid intensification of Humberto should serve as a wake up call.

I have to resurrect this thread because I still think this saying has been holding (since Dean/Felix/Humberto)....

lots of invests and activity but nothing to write home about.....

Lots of shear has plagued the Atlantic....

anything that attempts to go north of 15N has been sheared to bits.

I agree 100% gatorcane, and even though many will disagree and have
disagreed with us the fact is that shear has BUSTED everything north of
the caribbean with the exception of that freak storm humberto.

Maybe an effect of GW, maybe it's just normal, nevertheless, THANKS TO THE SEASON FOR WHAT SOME CALL "ALL BARK NO BITE!"
