Speedy and Me...An Internet Love Affair

#1 Postby azskyman » Sun Jun 29, 2003 8:28 am

I noticed in another post that Chad and Jenn said they could find it easier to give up cable TV/satellite dish than their DSL line.

Once I got the cable modem fired up and running...I, too, felt I could never go back to dial up. The speed is wonderful.

I'm at least five years away from retirement...maybe ten...maybe not ever...but when I consider the things I'll need if and when I do, my cable modem is right up there.

So "speedy and me" have a long term thing going here. Not far behind God, good health, my family, and my friends is my cable modem.

And I too move it ahead of 500 channels anyday.

Anyone else who feels that strongly?

Sure. I am online so much, that speedy internet access is exactly what I need and finally got eight months ago.

I'll probably be getting Broadband soon... I have FastNet, a Dial-Up service right now... but when this contract runs out, we will probably be purchasing Broadband. :)

Cable isn't in the cards for the next 1 1/2 years at least; in the meantimne, my 56K dial-up will have to serve.

As it stands, I now would feel absolutely LOST without my DELL Dimension 4500...and I'm already isolated enough as it is.

Count me in too. I had such a bad experience with dial up, but I had to wait until I got a hand-me-down computer that could handle cable. Give me my cable modem. Take my dinner! Take my car! Take my yard work! It usually takes a 2x4 administered by my long suffering wife to get me back to reality.
