Sept 30th: When is the wind in S. Florida going to end

#1 Postby DanKellFla » Sun Sep 30, 2007 6:16 pm

For now, the wind has died down, but is it supposed to be windy tommorow as well?

This breeze is great....not causing any problems (except to maybe boaters or swimmers)...and with dewpoints still in the 70's, we finally have some ventilation to make things a bit less stiffling.

Actually feels nice to walk outside...it can last until we get a real cold front down here in a couple of weeks!

I don't know why the wind thing is such big news all over all the local stations. lol. They had some guy out near the beach with a mini wind sock on his finger today  And also he had his anemometer, like a hurricane was approaching or something. I found it quite funny. Our local mets say it will stick around till Tuesday as well. I am loving it, feels great outside.

It is even breezier now than earlier today....feels awesome outside...probably gusting to about 30 mph or so here in Fort Lauderdale...no rain in hours, looks like most of the rain is to our south in South Dade & Keys.

I have been very much so enjoying this weather, living on the beach, squall lines coming in, rain kicking up. It is very refreshing to me...

Enjoy it while it's here.

this is exactly why when i see a post about south florida ever being taken by surprise i laugh because the local media is all over thunderstorms even when there is no low in sight, its ridiculous but they have to fill time so you get these reporters standing there with a wind gauge that reads 15. oh well, lots of eye candy on channel 7 so its worth watching i guess.

Actually, I enjoy it. But I have a Sukkah (Feast of the Tabernacles) that I built in my yard that is taking a beating. The structure is doing fine, but the roof keeps on getting blown off. I made some quickie fixes last night, but I don't think those will work today.
