But I agree, the internet is taking over. You can buy episodes online off iTunes so maybe that is the new future? I don't think Tv execs have really found a way to harness the internet's total potential and they're certainly going to have to if they want to continue.
I like the way CBS is offering their shows online -- available in many outlets: with ads at http://www.cbs.com and Joost and no ads at iTunes.com and Unbox (Amazon). It is consumer-friendly and friendly to other OSes, such Linux and OS X.
NBC is taking the opposite tack -- available for free on http://www.hulu.com and NBC.com. Commerical-laden, available for limited time, Windows-only downloads. They've pulled their stuff from iTunes, thus depriving Mac users the ability to purchase their shows. Yes, you can still purchase NBC episodes on Unbox (Amazon.com), but, again, Windows-only.
Yes, I'm pissed, because I was going to buy a season passes to Heroes and The Office. But whatever, if they don't want my money, I'll just go ahead and buy season passes to Jericho and Family Guy.
