No, the horses have to stay put until the Escatawpa River subsides. There are only a few roads still closed here in Jackson Cty. The sun has been peeping out some this morning. Still a bit windy, but no rain thank goodness. One of my neighbors trees caught on fire that was intertwined in a power line about 12 last night. Caused a surge in power but did not lose it completely. The power company cut the limbs out of the line.
Other than that it is looking good here. Although the rivers are out of their banks in alot of places. Still not good for people in low lying areas.

You dodged a bullet because it could be a lot worse for you area and also for the Louisianas coast because Bill was growing in intensity as he was making landfall and if Bill would be much farther away from the gulf coast it could be easy a cat 2 cane for sure at landfall.

Right down the road from me (I live on Lorraine Rd.) the river is covering the road. Luckily, I can go the oposite way and jump on the interstate. Many many roads in Harrison County are flooded. My friend watched a tornado go through their yard...pick up their porch swing turn it around and throw it into their pool. A tornado hit less than a mile from my house downing powerlines and rooting trees. Man, it was a BAD night. The worst thing is...most people didn't expect it to happen. Our local news said we might get 25-30 mph winds...but when they say that it rarely happens. The highest wind "reported" was 50 mph...but I seriously think it was much worse.
Like Linda said, the sun is peeking through this morning. Just a lot of cleaning in the yard to do. When I was out cleaning my pool this morning I found 3 baby blue jays that had falled out of their nest. (one died
) Called wild life conservation and they said to put them into some brush and their mama would come get them. As I was puting them in there, I could hear their mama yelling at me. LOL
Just glad its all over...hope no more storms come my way!!!

I know Ceye!! I NEVER give those storms the benefit of the doubt. I am sure all people who have been in storms feel the same way as I do.
I am sure Kami saw this too on the news last night. Tourists were actually swimming on Biloxi Beach in the surf. Their Father said they brought the kids to have a good time and they ARE having a good time. I am sure I was not by myself in my thoughts about this man being a complete idiot!!
Newcomers to this area are the ones I worry about. They have never experienced an actual hurricane, therefore, they will not know what to expect and will not take it seriously.
