I've been watching that spin for 3 days. I asked about it yesterday in the Late Oct/Early Nov Development thread.

I was told that nothing tropical would come out of it.

Glad to know I'm not the only one who noticed it.

That naked counterclockwise spin sure has been consistent as it has moved along.

Good place to check the level of circulation. 850 mb is near the surface, 200 mb upper levels.

To see if it's an upper level or lower level feature look at two different satellite images.

The water vapor image looks at the upper levels, and you can see this is an upper level feature:

For lower level features, which is important for tropical development, you use the visual or the shortwave:

If the atmosphere isn't allowing a surface Low to convect I doubt it will allow a ULL to drill down and convect.

The only possibility is that convection being dragged along behind it. If the ULL weakens it is possible this will drop off and form in the West Caribbean. But I doubt it will experience anything other than what all other systems have experienced here of late.
