NHC director within a month?

#1 Postby vbhoutex » Wed Oct 24, 2007 1:43 pm

A little blurb in the Houston Chronicle says that the new director should be appointed within a month, which would pretty much coincide with the end of hurricane season. It stated that Bill Read and Knabb were the two candidates. Also stated that Max Mayfield thought they were both good. Does anyone have any further information than this? The article was so short it isn't worth linking. Past the request for any further information, what are peoples thoughts on these two? I know Read was one of the short list candidates previously.

I hope it is Rick Knabb.

He has done many of the necessary media appearances in the past and would be a very good overall fit for the director

I know that Bill Read's currently assistant director, but that's about all I know. As for Knabb, he seemed rather terse in a one-line response to a query of mine earlier this season, so I'm not sure about that either. I'll gladly take Derek's word that Knabb's actually good with the public.
