We are in the cone here in S FL

#1 Postby boca » Wed Oct 10, 2007 11:46 pm

I made this post back in early August and so far so good. This is the first time since 2003 no cone. I have to say with confidence I 'm willing to bet nothing comes near the southern tip of Florida the rest of the season. I'm sure that statement should piss a few people off. I for one feel good and and pretty confident the rest of the season should end other than a few subtropical systems in the Central Atlantic. My reasoning is so many invests and nothing popped yet nothing will. I think Frank 2 will agree with me. I do enjoy tracking storms but it will end early despite La Nina. My 2 cents. If I'm wrong I'll eat crow. I'm wrong so I'll eat my crow and I like it well done.

I second that. I think next year is going to be a dooosey. As we remember 2005 La Nina was fading. I think the same scenario in 08. Have a great winter everyone. See ya next year. :cold:

Check out this thread:

My 2 cents is that it is unlikely that we have anything powerful that hits S. Florida this season. But not impossible.

Boca, I'm glad the only cones we've seen this year are the ones that hold ice cream (I'm still hoping someone will invent decaffinated chocolate)...

It seems CSU will be way wrong for October - the season looks to be about over...

I think decaffinated chocolate would taste like chalk. I'm trying to figure out why the shear is occuring and its not EL Nino. :double:

I think it is specious to associate negative conditions and potential tracks.

This one needed to be bumped since South Florida made the cone for TD 16.

Guess we spoke to soon on this one! Now, let's just hope it doesn't amount to anything other than some much needed rain.

No cone from this TD, either, according to Steve Lyons (and the NHC forecast) - it's forecast to make a hard right across Cuba and the Bahamas, ahead of an approaching cold front....

If the track for 16L shifts east than still no cone for S FL

What kind of cone are you guys talking about? Out to three days or five days? Because you all in South FL have certainly been in the 5 day cone for TD 16.

Whether it shifts in time or not - South Florida has made it to a cone for the 2007 hurricane season!!!

It is time to change the names of this thread!!!
