After 19 hours without electricity here in Uptown New Orleans, our lights return. We lost electricity four times yesterday, and lost it for 19 hours just as the eye was making its way over the city. Winds were very gusty for an extended period of time (>50mph?), leading to the power loss.
Gradually overnight the winds subsided, and today we have the sun!
Went outside with a friend during the peak of it all and kicked around one of those oversized plastic exercize balls. Probably not the best of ideas, but it sure was fun with the wind and rain.

It's no fun being without electricity. I'm glad they got 'em back on. Sounds like your game was fun. I'd have joined you if I'd been there lol.

I took my lab out and right after the worst of Lili passed over us. I would throw the tennis ball and it would just keep going and going down the street and he kept chasing it in the 50+ mph winds we were having. Felt like a kid again heh. It's good to hear that your lights are back on, we were without power for 36 hours after Lili and it sure was getting hot and stuffy in the house.

I am just glad you guys in my neighboring state are safe and sound!! After Frederic in 79 we went without electricity for about 2 weeks. Elena in 85 we were without power for a week. After Georges, power was out for 2 days!! lol. After Elena we also rescued three Pelicans that were hurt on the beach. Anybody ever heard them when they snap those beaks? lol.

Glad you got your power back on. That's one of the things I don't like about tropical systems.
By the sounds of it, you got about what we got during Floyd here in Raleigh. Winds in the 40 mph or so range, I think, heavy rain (about 8") and for us it was about 12 hours without power. Of course, the center of Floyd was in the eastern coastal plain (more than a 100 miles away).

Floyd, Wow... that was something to remember up here. We were receiving tremendous rainfall rates, and very strong winds... flooding ALL over the place, tree branches everywhere, etc. Of course we got the remnants of Floyd.
I should take my dog out in a Tropical System... LOL... he'd probably get blown away cause he's so small.
