Not really, now we have to put up with the water restrictions.

Yep, the center won't get any closer to southeast Florida than it is now. Your winds were actually stronger 2 days ago.

"BRING on Fall"

Yay! Let's enjoy clear conditions, dry weather, endless water restrictions, GA in flames, Lake Okeechobee's latest record low (courtesy of South Florida Water Mismanagement District), short-term "cool" shots...

I'm glad you don't speak for people in Georgia, Alabama, and the Carolinas.

Well now that Noel is starting the NNE turn and will soon be accelerating, looks like Fla gets off the hook again. Bye Bye Noel, been fun tracking you..........

Noel is an excellent example of a classic stalled storm pinned against a front.

Headed NE and out of town now.

Dry bands over us swirling NE to SW.

WE REALLY COULD HAVE USED THE RAIN.

Well, this thing isn't finished with the Bahamas. It could pass quite close to Nassau per current movement.

And it could pass very close to Maine as a very strong extratropical system. So the U.S. is still not out of the woods of a real threat from NOEL.

No needed rain for Southeast states. If this lack of hurricanes continues for a couple more seasons it could actually create a situation that is worse and more costly than Katrina itself was. Hopefully the winter will bring some rain.

Purely from the perspective of a South Florida resident; it was fun having a system to track with direct relevance to us.

Hope that the Bahamas cope well, which they usually do with storms much more intense than Noel and that the toll from Hispanola isn't as horrible as expected. Plus for the folks upstream in NE and Canada hope that this tracks further offshore.

It's been fun having a "threat" to South Florida and I concur that have we probably seen the last CONUS threat for 2007.

Later............

It seems that you're blessed once again, that's the trend of the year for the moment  so that's very good ,excellent news in spite of the drought apparently :( :D , but glad to see that all is partially calm in your country gatorcane ( Florida correct me if i'm wrong)... and given the high shear dotting the area and the upper synopsis i was very dubious ,( hope that you have read some of my replies concerning Noel :D ) to see much action on Noel for your country, whereas sometimes that was extremly funny to read some replies  sometimes it was as if the system would concern your island  :cheesy: :ggreen: . :spam:
But there's one month gatorcane :D , hope that you can have some water before the end of cyclonic season :) :cheesy: .

What's that JB fella saying this time - is Noel going to reverse course and become a Cat 5 (yesterday he had the nerve to state that it might become a Cat 2 (or 3)?

Someone mentioned to me yesterday that his comments are his own (AW's version of a cable channel pundit), but, many do believe what he says, so, he needs to stop his -removed- and act as the professional person that he is...

Aughh (I'll get off my soapbox now)...

Here are some recent images from Man of War Cay, Bahamas (taken around 10:50 a.m.)

Strong waves will be an issue throughout the islands.

The recent pressure is ~997 mb at Nassau, Bahamas. I think the wind ob (~3 mph) may be incorrect; it is inconsistent with previous recent obs.
