Saharian dust in november!!!

#1 Postby HUC » Sat Nov 10, 2007 11:18 am

The TWD talk about dust coming just behind the approching wave artound 60° west or so.
The last time i observe this rare occurence of saharian dust ,was in the first week of november 1999! That's to say that tropical influences are always present ( t wave, dust ). Perhaps the last run??? Anyone had comments on this situation???

You can see the dust here (notice the grey in the visible loop around 60W moving west).

Hi Huc, glad to see that you're here sometimes :) , concerning your topic...that's pretty interresting and it's a very good and pertinent observation, but i never payed attention to that with untrained eyes... in 1999  . But given your trained eyes i'm agree with the fact that this....means that there's some tropical activity :P :cheesy:  ... we continue to monitor the area Huc in spite of the apparent weak activity :cheesy: !

Hello, gusty;i know that some professionnal met in the carribean are studying the dust in our area. I know that Mr Lebel in Martinica do so.
I know also that some pro argue that the strong trades winds can also contribute to the so call "dust",when there are mixing with spry-sea.we know that this "dust" got some impact over huricane's formation and developpement...
This is a meteorological field that stay somewhat inexplored;and i think that we have a lot of job to begin ( biguine? :) understand this phenomenon.. Any pro here to answer? :?:

Ok ok Huc you seem very well informed as usual  8-) tkanks a lot :) :P . But, i'm very convinced too , as you said that this dust will have multiple interactions on canes in the future and in the weather and our waf of life too, it's a wide and unexploded field.... and agree with you , we have a lot of job to begin (biguine? lol  for sure) si si ....pero espero que tenemos bailadores para disfrutar este agradable baile (mueve mueve tu cintura /para ti bailadora que tienes sandunga) :D .
