New Development in SW Caribbean?

#1 Postby gatorcane » Tue Nov 13, 2007 12:48 pm

Looks like something new is trying to get going in the SW Caribbean even though 93L has fizzled. Thoughts?

Just you average late season ITCZ flare, nothing to ignore though. If it can hang out for a while without moving inland, then it may have a chance.

Look at the WV. Even if it did develop there's a steel lid of a High pressure regime above it.

Interestingly at the end of 2003 we saw a similar pattern in this general area. A lot of scattered convection developed before evolving into Odette and moving NEward. In this case everything is moving westward and limiting development.
