How do these temps compare to the averages for this time of year....has Siberia been colder than normal this fall?

'normal' temperatures for Ojmjakon (1961-1990) November 21-30:

daily max: -37,6°C
daily mean: -41,3°C
daily min: -45,3°C

So -40° is a very normal temperature over there at the end of November.

Coldest period of the year is the last part of December (21-31):

daily max: -45,5°
daily mean: -48,4°
daily min: -51,5°

Now all we have to do is get it to move over the Pole, and head South to Texas. Nothing between the North Pole and Houston but barb wire fence and blades of grass.

Hopefully it modifies just enough to spare my pygmy date palms and orange trees, but remains cold enough for snow.
