Your plans for Christmas Eve (Day) and New Years Eve (Day)
No traveling for me on Christmas nor New Years Eve and Day.Going to Church on Christmas Eve,Opening the gifts on Christmas day,Looking at NBA games that day.On New Years Eve,staying home ringing the New Year,on New Years Day,looking at the Pasadena Parade of the Roses, also the College Football Bowl Games.
Lets celebrate and have a safe holiday season, however if you are with some drinks pass the keys of your car to someone that is not drunk to avoid car accidents.

Re: Your plans for Christmas Eve (Day) and New Years Eve (Day)
Well, Christmas is gonna be outplayed this year by new years for once. Normal plans for Christmas....opening presents, eating dinner, sleeping, figuring out presents. Christmas hasn't been the same since I moved to Florida.
New Years is a different story entirely. I am going to Universal Studios Orlando for both New Years Eve and New Years Day. Ill be leaving the house early in the morning on 'Eve and then getting there in the morning. They will still have Grinchmas going on. Ive got Express Passes already so I will be hiting every ride I want...That includes the Hulk for the first time. Another thing to cross off my life list. Then the night ends with a big shebang Orlando style. I'm not entirely sure how Universal does it but I know it will be big. I'm sure there will be fireworks, and I have a 4-star hotel booked within the park to look at the after fireworks. If they can top Independence Day with fireworks, I wont know what to do with myself.
I'm kinda looking past Christmas this year for this event.
Edit: I almost forgot that the new Disaster ride will be opening in a few days, so Ill be able to go on that too!!!

I thought making the thread from now was good to see if anyone had travel plans during the Christmas days

I'm spending Christmas with my family, as usual. My dad will be cooking for about 10 of us Christmas day. Christmas day night will be spent getting drunk with my family and neighbours, and maybe watching the NFL christmas day game.
New year I'm going to a fancy dress party with my girlfriend, then staying at her house.

I'll have my sister and her family over as usual for Christmas Eve. We have a light lunch (usually ham and sandwich makings and some stuff for the kids) then open presents. We usually spend Christmas day at our respective homes. Kinda still trying to come up with new traditions since mom is gone now too.
New Years Eve we spend at home. Too many drunks out to go anywhere and Winnie doesn't care for the fireworks so we hang out with her. Maybe watch a movie or just listen to hubby play bass.
We do usually manage to wake one another to ring in the new year though.
Mama, I started thinking of something different I could cook for Christmas Eve yesterday and then wondered - what in the world is wrong with me? LOL !

No presents given or expected. No travel for this streetsoldier; beancounter and coppertop going to STL both days, while Annabelle (she be a ho') and I stay home.

LOL.
I have no clue what I'm doing either. The last few years have been very quiet and at home, and so until I hear otherwise, that's what I'm guessing will happen this year.

Actually, I'm really not sure what I'm doing for Christmas, as I generally don't do much other than give or open presents and whatnot.
haha i'm not sure what i did yesterday! ive got you both beat!

aww well seriously though, with the way christmas and news years falls this year (both on Tuesdays) , most people can take the Mondays off of work and make it 2 long weekends.
but i cant, i will need to be at work on both Christmas eve and new years eve (though im sure both days we will knock off early (prolly around 4pm) yes 4pm is early compared to 630pm.
then i get Christmas Day off and Boxing Day (day after christmas) ... family for sure on christmas day, then Boxing Day its time to hit the malls for those insane After-Christmas sales... to compare, the sales of Black Friday in the US (day after thanksgiving) is like Boxing Day mall madness in Canada. Doors swing open at 6am (some earlier) and stay open late, huge bargains for those who have money left over.
New Years' eve nite will be spent with the family again, and i got New Years Day off so YAY

Re: Your plans for Christmas Eve (Day) and New Years Eve (Day)
I would like to skip Christmas this year. I can see it all now. Friends, former employees and relatives rarely seen will be coming around. All the people that disappeared. Employees will wonder where the bonus is for the portion of the year we were still working. The nephew that got caught with his secretary and summarily fired.....will tell us how he found Jesus. Friends that bring bottles of liquor as gifts will discover I don't use the stuff anymore. We'll have to hide the pain meds if the addict cousin shows up. They will want to talk about Becky and her breast cancer. We will discover all the unknown medical experts in our extended family. They will stare at the drain tubes and her bald head. She will get upset and start crying. I know that it's not possible to skip Christmas. I also know it's not possible to teach people compassion for struggling cancer survivors. They get to leave and go home. You must live this deal to understand.
So folks.......if you visit anyone this Christmas that is not doing well. Be respectful. Bring joy. Do not add to the sorrow. It's the best christmas gift you will ever give.

My hubby and I will be spending Christmas down on Big Pine Key with our youngest son and his family. The oldest son and daughter and her son will stay here and we will have Christmas with them when we come home. Since daughter always leaves to go to a friend's house on holidays and oldest son does same thing, there is no need for us to stay . Grandson will be at his dad's place for either Christmas Eve or Christmas Day. We don't intend to get involved in the fuss between daughter and her ex over how long he can stay or what time he has to be picked up.
I hope that every one here on the forum stays safe and healthy over the holidays.
