Wow, I stayed in the Sheraton Galleria back on June 1st & 2nd. It's really disgusting.

It's disgusting, to be sure, but it's hilarious that everyone has been doing it yet refuses to comment. For whatever reason, Fox news is always very good at this kind of local coverage.

:uarrow: Basically, it involved how poorly glasses were cleaned in hotels; like, for example, with windex-like spray ("Do not drink", the bottle said) and DIRTY WASHCLOTHS. No soap. Same for about six years running.

Last Oct/Nov we visited what used to be our favorite resort in the Caribbean. We always request the same suite......414 at the Marriott, Frigate Bay, St Kitts. It's a four star resort. $500+ a night.

Last year before we left....I put a ten dollar bill (which is actually $30 EC) on top of the cabinet that holds the TV. Thinking it would be a surprise tip for the maid. A year later.....on our return....the $10 was still there. So much for the cleaning crew.

On another note......the next time you eat at any corporate restaurant...take a close look at your silverware. Very few restaurants actually polish their utensils. Most send them directly to the table from the dishwasher. You'll be surprised at the little bits of food hiding on your fork from the previous user.

One of my newer best friends moved out of the Budget Suites extended stay motel in Irving late this summer with his family due to the fact that they were stuck with a stained carpet since they first moved in this year (the carpets were supposed to be replaced if there was a stain). They were checking into Homeplace Suites a couple weeks later after coming back from vacationing from Tulsa, OK; but the smoke-permeated environment there made them check back out.

They're currently staying in another Budget Suites in Grand Prairie.

I'm allergic to cigarette smoke......and there are a couple of hotels around the area that are smoking/non smoking hotels..... the lodging office knows better...... and with EVERYONE complaining about those hotels they still continue to send people there.
