The original Japanese show is probably better (example: Iron Chef)

Usually that is the case. Did you know that Iron Chef ended in 1999? I was quite surprised at that and they are still running the program on American and Canadian TV networks. Some hints of that though are the old cameras they were using and the mircophones had stark colour to them. The American one is still going.

The original Japanese show is more entertaining as is the case with every foreign import that has been "Americanized". The only exceptions are Kitchen Nightmares and The Office.
