Olga Update:
I think Olga will remain north of the forecast points as I think the ridge is weakening (looking at WV loops). The next 12 hrs are critical with both increasing shear (however shear is falling --> http://tinyurl.com/ynkq8v ) and more mountains. After that I think there is a very slight possibility of Olga being upgraded to Hurricane status. With the ridge weakening, I think there will be a northward turn in Olga's future. I see absolutely no reason why Florida should not get moisture from Olga. I still do not see a direct hit in the US from Olga.

Then Ive got to study for my last exam tomorrow.

Re: Fact789's -TS OLGA

#124 Postby JonathanBelles » Wed Dec 12, 2007 12:20 pm

The following post is NOT an official forecast and should not be used as such. It is just the opinion of the poster and may or may not be backed by sound meteorological data. It is NOT endorsed by any professional institution including storm2k.org For Official Information please refer to the NHC and NWS products.

Advisory 12122007

TS Olga is weakening in the Northernmost Caribbean Sea.

no image at this time.

It looks like Olga got town apart by Hispaniola and now by shear coming from the west. Not much strengthening is expected with Olga and moisture will still be the main issue. This should remain south of Cuba and enter the GOM. For the US, there is a strong cold front moving south which should pick up the remnants of Olga sometime next weekend bringing moisture and wind to Florida. The end of Olga should be nearing.

Earth science and comp grades have been updated. The reason the ESC grade percent is unknown is because of this response: "You made a solid A" to what is my grade in percent? from my professor.
Also, My professor has turned down the invite to S2K.

:uarrow: Congrats, man! Unfortunately, over here a 93 is a B+, so we can't always get those kinds of grades, but still, congrats!

Thanks guys, that means a lot.

Well after I posted my grades Friday morning, I left for my HS to turn in my grades and to recycle for interact half skipping to school. lol After I finished interact I went to see my counselor, when I got there I found out that my counselor was not in, so I then walked home quite sad

Today I did some research on the Universal trip in 15 days. I found out that Disaster! A motion picture staring you! has not opened (supposed to open yesterday). Now rumored to be opening Christmas Eve. The Harry Potter Park is now visible! there is a video on YT that shows the broken ground from the Flying Unicorn and the fences surrounding it. The Simpsons Ride is rumored to be about half way done now as well.

Reminder that I get both my SAT and ACT scores back on Thursday morning. Ill be getting up early to get them.

Tonight and tomorrow (night) will be cooler than normal possibly going into the upper 30's tonight. Wind Chills will be going into the 30's. Great opening to winter.

This weekend was pretty slow. My absolute highlight of my weekend was last nights storm. I knew it was coming and hyped it to all my friends and family. The hype paid off. I got between 3/4-1" of rain. Winds were probably 45mph (minimally) with gusts in 60mph+ at times. Dizzyfish and I sat up in chat together watching the storms come into our coasts. Between 445a-5:15am was the worst. There were 3 rounds, each progressively worst. The last round came in with tail end charlie. Most of my Christmas stuff fell over out in the front yard, but no permanent damage done. This was by far worse the Barry earlier this year. I can say that two systems went directly over my head this year, beauty and power. This was a great conclusion to the 2007 hurricane season.

Hey guys,
I got my books today for second semester, 7 books in all. I dug into my Meteorology book as soon as I got home  It would have been 498.75 If I had paid for them, but with the Early admissions program i got my books for free. While I was getting my books, I thought of this line from chat last night. FYI, 8ball is Chacor's bot.

<TrekkerCC> 8ball did Mr. Fact789 get his books yet?
<Chacor> Look behind you! *runs*

I thought it was hilarious last night and still get a snicker out of it now. I still wonder what treks face looked like when he saw that.

I also turned in my grades today to my HS, got an "Oh, you have your grades already, oOo straight A's congrats, Ill talk to you later" response. So I grumbled home :) .

Tonight when I feel like it, I am going to post a poll or change this thread into a poll (if I can figure that out) to see if you all are really interested in my aforementioned newspaper article.

Ill ttyl

The poll is up. I want your true opinion. An outcome of No will not hurt me. Comments are welcomed.

I'm not even sure of how to submit an article yet. :)

awesome stories fact! You should write about it
Man I wish I hadn't fallen asleep during the height of that
storm :ggreen: Though I do recall briefly waking and observing
a 40-mph look alike gust but I thought I was dreaming and dozed off again...oh well...I also slept through the one 3 years ago in 2004 that
had 71 mph wind gusts...LOL... :ggreen:

:ggreen:

On the other hand, I did manage to force a large fan in my room into a wind
machine, I'm gonna see if I can rock that baby up to tropical storm force...I'm gonna build my own wind machine...and save on AC during the non-winter. I did
get it funneled friday to where it was ripping at my clothes real good...
It's time to challenge ol' barry back in june.

But the best thing is, there isn't going to be any damage, expect in my messy room, which
already looks like it had a category 3 come through it to my parents LOL, but I cleaned
it up real good last week so nuthin comes flyin at me when I CRANK that fan.

I told them PREPARE PREPARE for a mammoth snowstorm, i said to them by the time you look out your windows sunday morning, you will only see WHITE, some of them doubted me, but today i got good stares, NOW they believe me. haaa

but yeah man, KEEP ON WRITING. dont stop..or else i'd have to haunt ya! haaa just kidding. just DONT STOP!

I got a 1050 on my SAT for those who didn't know.

Countdowns...
less than 2 days till my 2-year anniversary with Storm2k
less than 3 days now till Christmas
203 hours until my trip to Universal Studios Florida.

small school update....I'm already through my 1st chapter in my Meteorology book, and into the 2nd one.

Universal Update...as said above, I am counting down. I don't really care about Christmas this year, as it will be far too hot for Christmas. I will be spending New Years Eve, and now New Years Day with a day expansion to my trip, at Universal. There I will be experiencing 4 holidays, Thanksgiving Macy's Parade, Grinchmas, New Years Day Parade, and the New Years Eve fireworks. I will be going on any ride that is asked about by the people I am going with, which is a first. Before, I would not go on 4 or 5 rides including the Hulk, which I will be going on. This will be the best visit yet. I have been watching developments in Universal over the last week or so. The one ride that was supposed to open before my next trip has not opened yet. That is the ride that replaces Earthquake... "Disaster! A Major Motion Picture...Starring You."

Here is the just released trailer... http://youtube.com/watch?v=nCoUD9SqMiY

Earthquake was a ride for weather enthusiasts, and Disaster will be more so. Disaster plans have been covered up pretty well. This is what I know. There is a new pre-show or two, what they are...i don't know. The Subway ride has been changed, how, i don't know. There is another new part after the subway, which remains unknown. There are very few pics on the web about disaster as well. It was supposed to open on 12/15...then they said 12/24....now with that trailer they are saying January. Whether I go on it or not remains to be seen.

Other updates from Universal....
The Simpson's Ride is half way done...opening in April.
The Harry Potter Park is now visible...well at least the dirt is  You can see the broken ground via the Flying Unicorn videos on YT. Also, the castles for Dueling Dragons are being changed.
Also, there is a RUMOR that a new roller coaster will be moving into the Universal part of Universal Studios in 2009, there are two rides in jeopardy, one of them is in interest of weather enthusiasts. I'm going to check on this rumor when I am there.

I will post more before my trip.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

My Christmas had every element that a Christmas should have. Giving and getting presents, lots of food, family, friends, movies, love, even the annual fight, a lap dance or two, a kiss, and all of you!
