Need opinions.....

My mother in law was in the hospital last month. She colon surgery. The doctor thought that it was twisted because she was vomiting green bile.It was only obstructed. She went up north to recuperate,now she is having belly pain and cramps. The hospital where she has been amitted took a catscan. It showed nothing. The hospital called in a surgen and see what to do. Not sure why they would do that if the catscan didn't show anything!!!??? Didn't think they would cut her open if they don't know why she is having the belly pain. yesterday she complained of gas and heartpain. Just wanted to know if anyone had any opinions. Thanks

We went through similar with my Mother-in-law. The doctor had to do exploratory surgery to find out what was going on since the scans showed nothing. She was 88 years old! The doctor found out that her bowel wall was perforated and repaired it. It could be diverticulitis also from the symptoms you are providing. Of course, any competent doctor would be considering the diverticulitis also.

Sounds like a preforated ulcer to me, can you take her somewhere else for a second opinon? I had to deal with this with the hubby 2 years ago, let's just say it was very nasty.

My mother in law has had divaticulitis twice. Still waiting for what the doctor says.

Thanks she will not be back for christmas.My wife is a little upset. Mom is doing better.
