They're clearly in the same peer group, she clearly consented, regardless of what the code of laws says.

Unless it was a case of true coercion or rape, you should never use such a law to punish a baby by taking its father away. It's just silly.

Not necessarily. Back in "golden" days of Hollywood, most of it was covered up . . Under the old studio system, the studio's did a lot of of cover-up of their stars' indiscretions. They went out of their way to protect their "investment". Some of the stories of the movie and TV stars from the '40s and '50s put today's celebs to shame.

Y'all don't seem to understand what happens at the private schools these teen stars used to attend. They go places. They begin to excel early.

Britney attended Parklane Academy. My daughter attended a similar academy.......just a few miles away. She played sports against Britney. They were just young girls. They were all beautiful and talented. And when they moved on....they have all ended up in places you cannot imagine.

Oddly enough, our daughter has a Bachelor of Fine Arts with an emphasis in graphic communications and a minor finance......has returned to college. She is pursuing a certification as an alcohol and drug counselor.....CADC. She is 26 years young. She is passionate.

I suggest to you that it is the money and early success that spawns the direction this generation pursues.

I would imagine that Jamie has experienced a similar dilemma.

Geez... we don't need Linda Ellerbee explaining sex to children. Nick should just pull the plug on Zoey 101 and let the parents explain to their kids, however they choose best. Some are older than others, more mature, less mature, may not even know what sex is yet, etc. Why do other people always think they know best how/what to explain to kids? Let the parents handle it and butt out, for crying out loud.

Nick Mulling Post-Spears Pregnancy Show

NEW YORK (AP) - Nickelodeon is considering a special for its young audience about sex and love following the news that 16-year-old "Zoey 101" star Jamie Lynn Spears is pregnant.

The television network has made no announcement about the future of "Zoey 101," its popular program aimed primarily at youngsters aged 9- 14. Filming for the show's fourth and final season has finished, and episodes are scheduled to begin airing in February.

For the special, Nickelodeon said it's talking with Linda Ellerbee, the veteran newswoman who has stepped in frequently in the past with shows on talking to children about difficult issues in the news. She's done shows about same-sex parents, AIDS, the Columbine shooting and President Clinton's impeachment scandal.

"I think it's important that something be done," Ellerbee told The Associated Press on Thursday. "But I think it's important that it be done in a measured way, and not just to feed the beast of news stories.

A Nickelodeon spokesman, Dan Martinsen, confirmed the discussions but said no decision had been made.

Spears, the younger sister of pop star Britney Spears, told the OK! celebrity magazine this week that she was pregnant. The father is her 19-year-old boyfriend, Casey Aldridge. She said she plans to raise the baby in her home state of Louisiana.

Nickelodeon has made no comment beyond a supportive statement for its star: "We respect Jamie Lynn's decision to take responsibility in this sensitive and personal situation. We know this is a very difficult time for her and her family, and our primary concern right now is for Jamie Lynn's well being."

The company has received a mixed response so far from its viewers, and the news has launched a public discussion about how parents should deal with it.

"This is a great opportunity for parents at this moment to talk to their kids about this—more important, to listen to their kids about this," Ellerbee said.

Rather than focus strictly on Spears, Ellerbee said she's considering producing a broad discussion about how people know they're in love, when is the right time to have sex and what are the value systems of their parents and friends. It could air as soon as next month.

"Right now what Nick is trying to do—and what I am trying to do—is figure out what is the best thing to do for kids," she said.

One television critic, David Hinckley of the New York Daily News, wrote Thursday that to end "this sordid moment" with a lesson, Nickelodeon should pull the plug on "Zoey 101."

"If Nickelodeon keeps Jamie Lynn Spears because her product sells, it runs the risk that a valuable message it has spent years crafting could shift from `trust us' to `whatever,'" Hinckley wrote.

Although Nick executives are still discussing the future of "Zoey 101," it's considered unlikely that it would shelve the final season. The third season ends Jan. 4 with a cliffhanger episode about whether Spears' character continues to attend a boarding school in California or moves to London with her parents.

Executives at Nick's rival Disney Channel public relations crisis this summer when Vanessa Hudgens, the 18-year-old star of its "High School Musical" franchise, posed for nude photos that were leaked to the Internet. Hudgens apologized, Disney stuck by her and the issue quickly faded.

Spears blames mom for teen sister's pregnancy

NEW YORK: Troubled pop superstar Britney Spears is blaming her mom Lynne Spears for the pregnancy of her 16-year old sister Jamie Lynn.

Britney called up her mom after she heard of the pregnancy and they spoke for a long time with Spears doing most of the talking, Pagesix.com reported.

An inside source said, "Britney basically went off on her the entire time, blaming her for Jamie Lynn's messed up life. It was a very hurtful call."

Britney and her mom have been estranged when her family forced her to go to rehabilitation against her will. The source added, "Britney feels like they have all abandoned her in her time of need. She felt, and still feels, completely left out of the family."

Spears is not allowing her parents to see her children.

The source added, "Because Lynne has been refused visits with Britney when she has the boys, Lynne will make sure she has more control over Jamie Lynn's baby.

Britney needs to get over her petty family issues. She needs to get help with her issues so that she can be a part of not only Jamie Lynn and her baby's life but her own boys' lives as well."

You know I notice many child stars tend to burn out and end up doing drugs. Well not all of course. I suspect it has more to do with the person in question. If child stars had strong parents who guided them, they are less likely to have problems. Corey Feldman and Macaulay Culkin come to mind.

Whether Brit-Brit actually purchased the pregnancy test is still up in the air, but could she really be pregnant with Adnan's baby?
