Will Smith has disappointed us in ways we could’ve never imagined.

In an interview, the 39-year-old family man and former-all around good guy says he sees the good in everyone, including Adolf Hitler.

“Even Hitler didn’t wake up going, ‘Let me do the most evil thing I can do today’. I think he woke up in the morning and using a twisted, backwards logic, he set out to do what he thought was ‘good’. Stuff like that just needs reprogramming,” Smith told the Daily Record.

Um, yeah, except for the whole killing six million Jews thing.

Will, you’ve broken our hearts.

I wish I knew the reason Scientology is so popular with Hollyweird stars...

It's popular because (a) it panders to those who desire taking no responsibility for their actions (passing this on to some alien spurer-beings that infest our DNA), and (b) is another pseudo-Gnostic body which reveres the idea that, with study of the "proper" books and correct "mentoring", they can achieve a godlike state....if one has enough money to salt the group's coffers.

By that logic, there are people on my street who are more evil than Hitler. And I do believe that twisting evil into good probably IS the most evil thing you can do today.

I see Smith's point. We're born good and some of us become misguided. He should have used an example that wasn't as emotional as Hitler.

That being said, I disagree with him as I believe people in their natural states are horrible creatures and good qualities are learned, not the other way around.

Horrible creatures morally, but perfect in terms of survival.

I really dont have an opinion on this subject other than just like any other person, he can choose which religion he wants to follow.

I don't care what religion a person chooses to believe in as long as they don't shove it in my face. When a celebrity starts talking about his/her religion, that celebrity has lost a fan.

We live near a morman church and always get the new recruits coming to our door. I ask them if i can stop by their house and give them pamphlets on the catholic church.

In the latest issue of Men’s Vogue, Will Smith tells the book that, after flirting with Buddhism and Hinduism in the past, he has started to study Scientology with Hollywood pal Tom Cruise. Adding to Mr. Smith’s recent revelation, a source apparently told US Weekly that the I Am Legend star’s wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, 36, has also become interested in the quasi-religion started by science-fiction writer L. Ron Hubbard. In fact, they told the gossip weekly, “She’s more gung-ho about Scientology than Will.”

And that might be saying a lot. Mr. Smith, 39, who was raised in the Baptist church, goes on to say that “Ninety-eight percent of the principles (in Scientology) are identical to the principles of the Bible….I don’t think that because the word someone uses for spirit is ‘thetan’ that the definition becomes any different.” To clarify for those who may not know, a ‘thetan’ is considered by most Scientologists to be a spiritual being—possessing both a mind and body—who has lived through several incarnations.
