And what about that dude who is 4 years over the limit who was singing a song about stalking Paula?

If she were a dog, I would walk her...
If I were Columbo, I'd Peter Faulk her...
If she were a bathtub, I would caulk her...

If I had a taser, I would shock him.
If he has any internet accounts, I would block him.
If he walked into jail, I would lock him.
But none of that is happening, so I'll just mock him.

Rare to see a chick that dorky.

Alexis Cohen claimed she was leaving with her dignity. Ha-ha. She wasn't that bad, but wasn't quite good enough.

And the Chicago lady with the sick baby was just inspirational.

-Ratings Breakdown:
As expected, it was a huge overnight victory for Fox on this third Tuesday of 2008, with the seventh season-premiere of American Idol at an 18.6 rating/27 share from 8-10 p.m. Comparably, that outdelivered the second highest rated show of the evening, CBS’ NCIS (10.2/15), by a hefty 82 percent. But year-to-year, American Idol actually dipped by 15 percent from its sixth season-opener on Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2007 (21.8/31).

They can't keep this thing going forever, even if it is a talent show. It will eventually jump the shark.

Agreed. This is the first year it has not increased over the previous year, so I think it's fair to say it has peaked.

They should do a program called "American Idol: Weird People" Edition. If your mom and grandma say you sing good, please get other opinions before auditioning in American Idol.

These auditions should make their way to AFV "America's Funniest Videos."

Well, the costumes and outfits should give you an idea of what American Idol is becoming; people did this in the 1960's when Let's Make a Deal was popular.

I was watching the Dallas auditions and I saw one of my former classmates from Austin Middle School in Irving, TX named Charles. His dreams of becoming a pop star (like thousands of other hopefuls) went down the drain.

Plus I've seen dozens of other auditions I wouldn't believe, especially those who have butchered a Kelly Clarkson song.

That last guy in that white suit who hugged Simon and praised him to heaven... ROFL.

Once again it was a robust victory for Fox care of American Idol, which averaged a 17.6 rating/26 share in the overnights from 8-10 p.m. But compared to one year earlier (21.6/31 on Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2007), that was a decline of 19 percent.

I saw last night's episode, and I loved their "You Forgot The Lyrics" segment.

The first contestant did well, aka my ears aren't bleeding. The second? Rough start, bad high note in the middle.
