morther load of the arctic into midwest next week...or not

#1 Postby PTPatrick » Sat Jan 19, 2008 11:56 am

Looking at this mornings GFS is quite interesting. It is still beyond 10 days but the shear magnitude of the cold that must be associated with it is interesting nonetheless. It even shows thickness of 470s in montana...which I havent seen south of the canadian border in some time. It also shows -30 850 temps poking down as far as southern nebraska. If this were to hold true I would think denver could see a high below zero...and prolonged periods below zero are rare in Denver...in fact the last time Denver failed to reach above zero for a high was january 1997...

NOW having said that....it is the GFS and 12 days out, so it will be fun to watch at least.
