:D Well guess what ! it started snowing 25 minutes ago Here in white oak NC and its sticking they are large flakes too. I love it . should move alittle futher north as much as i like it. Husband doesn't he is very cold nature. My son is traveling in GA and said all we would probably get is rain Then my Hubby came in and said its snowing. It wasn't suppose to start till about 8pm what a surprise for us. crazy isn"t it. How people in the south love snow and people that deal with it all the time hate it. I am a happy camper right now :P

Here's link to a slide show of our snowfall in Seminary, MS. Still have about 3 inches on my truck and about that much on the ground. Some melting is taking place, but has slowed down this afternoon.

Stopped snowing here in Canton, GA about 3:30 PM... all the beautiful snow is gone  ... Temps are back up to 36 degrees... They're predicting some snow around 8:30 PM, but skies are clear, so I don't think that'll take place... What do you guys think? I trust your opinion more then I do our local mets..

I think the storm is winding down across GA and even upstate SC. Atlanta and Charlotte's advisories have been dropped.

Could be a snow burst but the accumulating snow is over.

I still have a coating of snow on the ground as the sun sets.

When we woke up thurs morning we still had a thick blanket of snow and it didn't melt till after noon... waiting for the artic air mass and high winds for tonight and tomorrow. Again thanks for your help!

TimNms those are some amazing pics. Last time I've seen snow accumulation like that was when I was just a little kid living in Michigan. Awesome pics.

So much for the warm and dry winter we were suppose to have huh. Looks like next week will be pretty wet as well but a little warmer. I'm sure we'll have more opportunities in the coming weeks.

40 here on the coast. The mets said we topped out around 11:30 and the temps "should start falling". Ugh...They kept rising until about 3 or so, then steadied out until maybe 6 or 7. They rose from about 40 (11:30ish) to 43 or 44, chilled there for quite a while, and finally started falling. Some areas that were supposed to change around 4 still are reporting rain. We were supposed to start mixing in around 7 pm...the temp is just chilling now, so I can pretty much hang any snow up. -sigh-

Was looking forward to maybe an inch, but now it looks like we wont see any snow at all...

I am in the same boat, 34F and rain with a wet flake here or there. I am beginning to think I will never see snow in Eastern NC again...

Yeah, I hate that when it is just a couple degrees away from freezing and rain...bleh. You will, just the patterns here recently have been sucking tremendously.

Still a dusting on the ground here pretty much everywhere in the grass and shady areas... barely above freezing(finally!) despite full sun after a low of 17. I think tonight will be colder. :jacket: :froze: :sled:
