It doesn't make sense at all, they've issued 4 of them already and now a major city is under fire and nothing so far.

Or maybe it isn't a "large and extremely dangerous tornado".

No real panic on Nashville news. Probably some weak tornadoes hit, or a near-miss in the air.

Hearing the Nashville storm is cycling itself...did so at the perfect time...the areas SW of Nashville are mostly rural (it is laid out like spokes of a wheel).

please link quoted material. Also i'd like to read anything else said. thanks

http://www.uu.edu/

Unfortunately, the site is now down...

Interviewing the university President (Mr Dougherty?) on http://www.wsmv.com/video/9624406/detail.html
now-they have all the students moved to the pinick building, if parewnts want to pick their kids up use the south entarance, north ent is being used for er personal and classes cancelled till 2/13..no power, no website
Buildings damaged-Women's dorm, the waters is damanged, mackafee dorms damaged-roof of 2 halls blown off-missed the names.

8 students still trapped-they are talking to all of them-no one is panicking-rescue crews are working on getting them freed...they had 1180 living in dorms and as far as they know all students are accounted for. They are trying to get info out, but no power on campus, phone system overloaded, everything is under control.

Hope the above is understandable-typing this as he was talking.

Now it is one of the biggest for February. The 1971 outbreak was the biggest though.

Ok Thanks.

MESOSCALE DISCUSSION 0171
NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK
0939 PM CST TUE FEB 05 2008

AREAS AFFECTED...MIDDLE TENNESSEE

CONCERNING...TORNADO WATCH 40...

VALID 060339Z - 060515Z

THE SEVERE WEATHER THREAT FOR TORNADO WATCH 40 CONTINUES.

AN ADDITIONAL WW PROBABLY WILL BE NEEDED SOUTH OF CURRENT WW SOON.

FORCING SUPPORTING ONGOING CLUSTER OF TORNADIC SUPERCELLS...NEAR/
NORTHWEST OF NASHVILLE...IS EXPECTED TO DEVELOP NORTHEAST OF MIDDLE
TENNESSEE BY 04-05Z. BUT...SEVERE THREAT WILL PERSIST UNTIL
UPSTREAM SQUALL LINE ADVANCES THROUGH THE INTERSTATE 65 CORRIDOR
DURING THE 06-08Z TIME FRAME. THE RISK FOR DAMAGING WINDS MAY BE
THE PRIMARY SEVERE THREAT WITH THE SQUALL LINE...BUT LOW-LEVEL SHEAR
WILL REMAIN VERY STRONG AND SUPPORTIVE OF CONTINUING TORNADO
POTENTIAL...AS THE BOUNDARY LAYER REMAINS RELATIVELY WARM/ MOIST AND
POTENTIALLY BUOYANT.

Hillary Clinton talked about the tornadoes just now briefly and wanted people to remember them right now.

That is so great for her. I don't support her, but that is definitely something sweet to say :) Hopefully everyone else will mention them as well. After all, it might have major implications on the election if it swings a close race in the states affected.
