Possible, but is there much chance for supercell development?

Haven't seen any of the graphics, but there's plenty of warm air at the surface and plenty of CAA, and there should still be some fairly strong wind shear.

It's much less favorable tomorrow. Instability is mostly lacking and the zone of largest helicity will be located further north away from the instability, but it's still pretty large so isolated tornadoes cannot be ruled out. Main threat will be damaging winds associated with a strong low level jet.

Anyone else watching the live coverage from WSMV? That fire is frightening! From eyewitness reports it's located near Hartsville, TN, which is about 35 miles from Nashville (per WSMV report). Yet, the fire is quite visible from WSMV's tower cam! Early reports from people in the area indicate it may (MAY) have been caused when a tornado passed over a natural gas line or pumping station. And yet another line of severe storms is bearing down on the area.

Tornado warning associated with the squall line is very hard to detect on the Level 3 radar we have available. Maybe the local WFO saw something on the Level 2 and issued it as a precaution, but it looks mainly like a strong wind threat for Louisville as the squall line passed through.

The line kind of surprised me. Power was out here until just a second ago and the winds were strong.

I heard there was some trees down on Main Street here.

On WMC they said the Fayette County death was from a tornado that flipped a truck w/ a 70 year old man in it. But you know how the media can be at times.

WMSV has reported that Vanderbilt Medical Center has been alerted by authorities on the ground near that natural gas fire to prepare for injured persons. No report on number of injured persons or the extent of injuries.
