My guess for Central Florida:

1-3" of rain
0-15 tornadoes
some hail
High winds likely....gusts 30mph outside of T-storms

worst damage will come from winds and any flooding that occurs in flood prone areas.

Tornado watch might be issued (50% chance)

They seem pretty confident on some rain down here even. We shall see..so many times it blows by with just a sprinkle down here. Up north you people keep an eye to the sky as there will be some severe weather reported.

Yeah, really looking forward to that "severe weather". Dang it!

I hate it when it happens during the work week. Not only am I not at home
but I have to do double duty watching for the school too.

The way it's sounding - I won't get much sleep tomorrow night.

*crosses fingers that it won't be bad*

It seems like the satellite images are in tune with the models. A weakening Low. Time will tell.

Good tropical plume off Yucatan and headed this way. We could really use it. This one isn't front related. It's just a good moisture blob Low with a south-lying center. This would be a hurricane if it were August.

I am right now in Coconut Creek, and we are defiantly in the "calm before the storm" mode right now. The winds have calmed down a little, and the air is full of moisture. There is a line of storms trailing up Broward County now, and it should be pouring here in around 15 minutes.

That line hit 595/Turnpike/Marina Mile - which is where I'm at now - at about 1245-1300. Bunch of wind and diagonal rain. No thunder, light/dark sky - nothing spinning, no obvious shelf or wall clouds visible here. Moderate rain, I'm waiting for the second line to hit as indicated by NOAA radar.

Thx for telling me what to expect. It looks like it is getting very strong near Miramar now though.

That's not true... the low will deepen as it transverses the peninsula. The upper-level trough will support further baroclinic forcing, thus the Gulf low will deepen. By the way, model data shows a strengthening low, too. "Deepening" implies strengthening. Regardless, this precipitation will be very beneficial for the Lake Okeechobee regions and SW Florida. I'm going to place new batteries in my NOAA Wx Radio - a Severe TSTM Warning was just issued for a cell that passed over my locale within the past several minutes, producing heavy rain and gusty winds.

Edit: Mission accomplished.
