I wonder how much convection it would actually take for the NHC to even think about naming a low in the North Atlantic in February.

I was just wondering if this nice convection is related to the positive atlantic anomalies (SST)... Before reading this topic, I was thinking to post that image in the topic talking about them.

I knew this thread would show up sooner or later. It's a very impressive-looking warm seclusion, been out there for a day or so.

THE REST OF THE ATLANTIC OCEAN...

AN EASTERN ATLANTIC OCEAN DEEP LAYER CYCLONIC CIRCULATION CENTER
IS NEAR 33N29W IN WATER VAPOR IMAGERY. A 997 MB LOW PRESSURE
CENTER WITH GALE FORCE WINDS IS NEAR 33N29W ALSO.

Certainly is a nice low though its not got little chance of being noticed by the NHC. Has this been Autumn though with the higher SST's then it could well have been worth watching.

Hmmm... in 2005, I believe 'ZETA' was born from a convective cut-off low like that...

I have to look for some image about it, as I think I keep some of them in the HDD of my PC.

I doubt anything will come of this, but an impressive system for February. It's not 2005, people.

That isn't the point. 2005 showed that just about anything is possible. I don't think anything will come of this, but I'm sure people said that about Zeta...
