Hopefully this event pans out to be nothing. The one thing I do notice here on the board is how everyone is brought together during significant events. We will all need each other should get a major hurricane that affects all of us. We were very very lucky with Rita.

I'm glad you said that KatDaddy. I don't feel like quite so much the Freak for letting as many people know as possible that Saturday looks really bad. Good idea about charging the batteries too - off to do the same. :D

As usual the "Katy Effect" and "Bear Creek Dome" are holding strong. Not one drop of rain today... I don't know if that bodes well or not for tomorrow's event.

Yes they have. Not a drop of rain at the house today. All we have is the usuall mist / low ceilings and vis when warm fronts push through our area. Concerned that the low levels will have too much low clouds tomorrow. But could be a blessing.

I'm doing the same thing Lisa! I've got several friends coming over for a "cooking during crappy weather day." If the power goes out, we're using our next-door-neighbor's kitchen as he's out of town and he has a gas cooktop and oven. LOL! Won't be the first time we've had to resort to his house, and I know he won't mind as long as everything is cleaned up (obviously). I just love my neighborhood!

Yeah, we just noticed thunder rumbling under the BC Dome a few minutes ago. Here we go! Just got a brown-out as I'm typing....

Yankee, what happened at the vet with Dr. Ansari? PM me and give the gory details!

Well spoke to soon about no rain, it's now raining. Nice small cell passing over Katy now. Even a couple rumbles of thunder.

Looking forward to hearing more from the usual Hurricane Watchers... I haven't even looked at S2K in over 3 months but it's nice to see people are here when they need to be. Who thinks this is going to be as big as the weather channel seems to be pushing?

How would you rate the setup compared to last 2008 severe events ?

I'm hearing thunder, although radar suggests where I'm at in the Veterans Memorial/FM 1960 vicinity isn't under a storm.

May be time to go oustide and look at the clouds, see if I get any illumination from lightning.
