Hi Hurakan. What do you think about this new strong band getting ready to move into SFL?

A big storm just passed through our area, and another one is on it's way. What is interesting is that the clouds in my area, at least the ones in the lower levels, are heading more northward than eastward at the moment.

After looking at the radars, the top of the big band is making its way into South Florida, and this band is not going to dissipate over land easily.

The storms in the big band continue to move SE, while the band all together is starting to head NE. This is going to be very confusing.

We had around 2 inches in steady moderate rain with occasional bursts. Excellent for dry season.

LOL!!!!
February is as much the beginning of rainy season in Florida as it is the start of summer in Chicago. Or NFL Football season...

Looks like this weekend will be superb! Highs in the High 70's and perfect conditions, what else can I ask for in February? I just hope the rain on Sunday comes as late as possible. It rained last year when I went to the Florida State Fair and it better not happen again! :grrr:

Re: Florida Weather Thread-warming until Sunday/Monday

#833 Postby JonathanBelles » Sat Feb 16, 2008 12:36 pm

Two things I found interesting in the lates HWO Tampa Bay:

HIGH PRESSURE WILL PROVIDE WARM TEMPERATURES AND LIGHT EASTERLY
FLOW FOR MOST LOCATIONS TODAY. A SEA BREEZE WILL SET UP ALONG
COASTLINES EARLY THIS AFTERNOON.

is it that warm already? :uarrow: :uarrow: Oh well, Ill take it. I guess I can do my homework outside today.

...FOG IMPACT...
MOIST AIR WILL ADVECT OVER FLORIDA AND ADJACENT GULF AND BAY
WATERS SUNDAY AND SUNDAY NIGHT AHEAD OF A COLD FRONT. THIS MOIST
AIR WILL INTERACT WITH COOL WATER TEMPERATURES TO CREATE AREAS OF
SEA FOG. THE HIGHEST POTENTIAL FOR THE FOG WILL EXIST FROM
SARASOTA COUNTY NORTHWARD ALONG THE COAST...INCLUDING TAMPA
BAY...AS WELL AS NEAR AND OFFSHORE AREAS WEST AND NORTH FROM THE
COUNTY. THIS FOG WILL AFFECT COASTAL REGIONS AND MAY MOVE INLAND
AS THE COLD FRONT IMPACTS THE REGION OVERNIGHT SUNDAY INTO MONDAY.
THE FOG WILL BE LOCALLY DENSE MAKING NAVIGATION VERY DIFFICULT.

Be Careful :uarrow: :uarrow:

Actually, looking outside again to my west, I might have just jumped to conclusions. I see some dark clouds and what LOOKS like an approahing line, but the radar looks kinda dissapointing.

Meh...

It was comparable to a tropical rain shower. Just enough rain to put an inch of rain on the street, 1-2" on the sides.

Gosh, what the heck was today? Bunch of false hopes? I got nothing. Showers came and went.
