Good afternoon to all! It has been forever and a day since I stopped in at the ol' Front Porch. Just wanted to say hello, and hopefully I will be stopping by more often - well, once the wife and I get back from our trip to Myrtle Beach, anyway. We are spending the weekend through Tuesday the 8th with my sister-in-law and her husband.

Have a great 4th everyone. :)

Happy 4th everyone a day early. :D We have a brush fire out this way too so don't feel bad Dennis. (no joke intended) It is also hot and dry here. High today was 81.

Tomorrow I will be with my mom so I dunno how much I will be online. So that is why I said happy 4th early. ;)

Evening folks!

Been awhile since I stopped on by....I was on vacation!! Was unable to say goodbye before I left last week as our youngest daughter had a wretched case of homesickness the night before I left to go to florida.I got to talk to her on the phone late that night and by the time I packed it was time to leave for JFK at four am!

Had a WONDERFUL time in florida, stayed at my aunt's house just a few miles north of ft.lauderdale.The weather was great, not to terribley hot and humid, actually it was warmer at home than where I was!

Our son is back to snuff....Praise God!! We have one more visit in philly next week to remove stitches and that should be the last visit for six months!I'm so glad and thankful he is better...I have more gray hair now then I did six weeks ago....EEEEKKK!!

Sandi..hugs to you, glad to read that your boy is at college with hopefully a well learned, never to be repeated lesson, under his belt, I'll keep him and you in my prayers :D

Dennis......Hot nuff for ya?Are ya meltin' yet??!! Give your lady a hello from me!

Well hubby started to fence in our yard today....YAY!!!..time for a break.
Have a happy and safe 4th of July friends....God Bless America and all the stovians!! :D

Blessings Raine

Glad to hear that Dakota is doing so well. That is awesome news. :D

The fire here is up to 500 acres now. They say a structure (a trailer) has caught fire now.

May God truly bless America on the eve of our Independence Day celebration. For all our ills and sadness and fault...we are still the greatest nation on earth and stand for a lot of very good things.

I'll check in on the holiday...if no one is around, I'll hollar and listen to the echo!!!

Be safe stovians....

BTW Dennis...someone dropped a large boat off the back of their vehicle on I-17 headed out of Phoenix. So...although most of those folks don't end up in your neck of the woods, they will be fiesty when they get where they are going!

Happy 4th of July 8-)

I trust everyone had a restful nights slumber? It finally cooled off to a nice 56° this morning, heading to a forecast high of 92° WITH a *slight chance* of a boomer

Won't be around too much after this, we have the BLOCK PARTY to attend to, it's on my corner, have to set the BBQ'S up, the canopys, the tables, WHEW.....I'm tired already "LOL!" Can't wait, so far, we've had 42 ppl RSVP............no.......they're not all neighbors, we only have 5 other couples on the street, this is other friends etc.

Josh.......hope your fire is contained soon, I'm tellin ya, this has been a ROUGH fire season so far, yup.....we too have another one just to my south, the first slurry run is under way as I post this, he just buzzed the house about 3 minutes ago. The Holly Grape Fire is at 400 acres, hasn't crowned just yet, it's running on the ground, it's less than 1 mile from a thinning project done last fall, plans are for the fire to die when it hits that area, God let's hope so!

Well folks, I need to get off my duff and start getting stuff ready, party is set to start at 1400 hrs, COME ON OVER............"Happy 4th and May God Bless America Again!"

OK...all we want for fire today is FIREWORKS. No extracurriculur fires anywhere.

Emma and family arrived right on time at Sky Harbor last night...and is fast asleep as I write. I'll be fixin' her pancakes for breakfast within the hour!

When she laid her head on Poppy's shoulder last night, all was right with the world.

Enjoy your holiday.

Happy Fourth Everyone!!
Dennis, sure wish we could ALL be at your party! It sounds like alot of fun and games! I know that I sure could use some of that!

Steve, prescious, beautiful Emma!! What a lucky man you are and children do tend to make the world look a little less scary!

Raine, the news about Dakota is wonderful! Sounds like he is recovering very nicely! Homesickness is probably the worst thing a child can go through and I am glad you were able to talk to your daughter when she needed it. Thanks again for the thoughts and prayers!

We are going to my sister's today for a cook out if we can keep the weather at bay. More rain is expected here so we are keeping our fingers crossed that it just passes over!

With all that has gone on with my oldest son, we spent yesterday afternoon in the Emergency Room with my youngest son, Chaz. He flipped a go-cart and broke his shoulder! It seems that once things start to go wrong, it just keeps going and going and going.................. We have to go to an Orthopedic Doc on Monday to have him look at the X-rays and tell us what the next step will be. Football season starts soon and we are praying that we get his shoulder healed in time for to play. His dream is to go to college on a football scholarship. He is 12 now, so we have a little time :D

Anyway, I hope you ALL have a wonderful holiday and most of all......STAY SAFE!!

Gulfbreezer...Not to scare you or anything, but we took our oldest son to college on the Saturday before school started. Got him all situated...then made the 4 hour drive home. When we got home there was a message from the ER in Charleston IL. Jason had been admitted with a broken shoulder.

Seems he had been playing football with some others on Saturday afternoon and snap, there it went.

We let the hospital take care of him...and over the phone took care of the releases, etc., but then went back the next weekend to see him in a sling.

What a way to start college! Maybe your boys will get their flings out of the way right now!

Happy 4th!!!

Happy Independence Day Everyone!!!

Sandi...I hope your son's shoulder heals quickly. Poor thing, I know he's disappointed but hopefully he'll be fine soon.

Skyman... "awwww" - mine are younger but there's nothing like them laying their head on your shoulder. I just hug and snuggle mine constantly!!

Dennis, can I come to your block party? Our plans were cancelled...wet, rainy day. We're postponing until tomorrow or the next day...when it dries up a little. Yes the timing stinks but I can't really complain. I've been complaining forever it seems that I NEED rain....so I can't complain now about the timing.

I guess I'll be popping on storm2k on and off today. I hope everyone else has a wonderful, safe holiday!

Boom boom! Must have been a lot of fireworks last night for me out west to be the first to say good morning today!

Took Emma to visit a couple of friends for an hour last night. Had a nice visit and on the way home could see 3 diffeent fireworks displays around us along the freeway. Kind of interesting.

Now...those of you living in areas where storms may occur...looks like more storminess possible for you today! Nature's fireworks are awesome too.

Have a nice Saturday. Jason wants waffles for breakfast, so better go mix up the batter!

Good Afternoon, er......Morning!

WHOA!!! I opened my eyes at 0600 this morning!! I haven't slept THAT LATE in years!!!

I trust everyone had a safe and sound 4th? We had a BLAST!! Final talley on ppl, 48! I flipped 58 burgers, 12 packages of hot dogs and drank a *few* beers "LOL!" What a GLORIOUS time that was, neighbors who have never met other neighbors talking, hugging........ppl who never leave the house coming over grabbing a burger and watermelon, my word, what a BLESSING that was! There was SOOOOooooooooooooo much FOOD, my goodness, we could have fed the 101st Airborn Division LOL! Funny part is, VERY, VERY few leftovers, I haven't seen ppl eat like that since I was in the Navy! The weather............"HOT!", well, for US it was hot! 94° at the start, clouds rolled in, a *few sprinkles* and it cooled off to a nice 78° by 1800 hrs.......the Good Lord was smiling down on us for sure!

That's nuff outta me, I've got TONS of honeydo's to do THEN.........yet ANOTHER party tonight, we were invited to a surprize BDAY party for Debbie Paxon, Jim Paxons wife......Jim, as some of you know, was credited for saving Pinetop, Show Low along with Rick Lupe during last years fire!

Stay safe, God Bless and make it a GREAT day would ya?

And, a good afternoon, indeed!

Sandi, I hope your son's shoulder heals quickly! The young
one's bones usually heal faster, if that's any consolation to
you!

Dennis, that cook-out sounded like WAY too much fun! :D

Be safe out there, Josh!

Yaaay! SG got some rain, eh? It's about time for you folks -
I'd of sure been glad to share some of our's, if I could have.

I got up at 4:30am to have my Mom to the hospital by 6:30am
for outpatient testing. She had to drink the "yummy" Golytely
prep, yesterday...(Golytely...what a joke!), but, I'm
happy to say that they ONLY found an ulcer! She hung around
here and rested on my couch, for a while, until she felt "normal",
again, and, now, she's home doing well, having coffee with her
neighbor. I'm only two blocks away, so, she knows I'm here if
she needs anything.

Everyone go out and have a great evening!

Well Gang - another 4th of July has come and gone. Had a very peaceful day with my hubby - he was a sweetheart and barbequed a brisket and let me sit around all day and do nothing. I cooked some cheese potatoes and corn with it - it was delicious. Took my 7 year old to the fireworks display at the City of Baytown -(I had to see if it was worth all that money we paid) -it was a very nice show.

Came home and turned in early. Got up this morning to thunder, lightning and heavy rain - but once those storms moved through it turned out nice and hot.

Hubby and me just finished grouting our gameroom - this has been one of them ongoing long-term home improvement projects - but I have to say as backbreaking as it was - it was worth it - the floor looks great. I just took my pain meds and going to relax before I have to attend church this evening.

Tomorrow is going to be family fun day - going to WaterWorld and enjoy sometime wiith the family and away from the house for few hours.

Azskyman - my 9 month old niece started walking yesterday. My brother in law called and told us - love to get those type of calls -- then after I got the phone with him - my dad called telling me the same thing - his only grand-daughter besides my stepdaugther was now walking - he was a proud grandpa too.

Well need to run folks - I know this is long - but felt like conversing here. I'll leave a bowl of homemade banana pudding in the Porch refrigator and anyone who wants some - help themselves.

Enjoy and God Bless.

Hello and Happy Belated 4th to all! ITS SO GOOD to be HOME!!!
I've arrived safe and sound from my extended visit in Daytona, and getting back into the old routine of things. My mom and her friend stayed a few days when they brought me home, so its been a busy place around here. The next round comes in next week as Brian's mom is visiting from Chicago, and then flying home with Brian's son...where oh where HAS the summer gone?!
We had a nice 4th, had a picnic in the yard with the kids, took them out for an Italian dinner by the riverfront, and watched as Shreveport put on a fantabulous firework display....then we did our own! Thankfully, there was a nice breeze, so we didn't sweat bullets during the fireworks...
Well, I need to catch up on emails and such...hope everyone is doing fine.

Good evening everyone.

David, hope your dad stays safe while he is overseas. Got him covered. ;)

Furry, glad you are back safe and sound. :) Sounds like you had a fun time. :D

I have been having the longest warm spell in ages. All week it has been 75+. :D Today it was 81. :D Tomorrow I may or may not go to the beach. I didn't make it today. I may not tomorrow either.

Have a great Sunday everyone. Joshua
