Re: Fact789's -Universal pics and part 1 of the story is up
I thought Id finally start my Universal Story...so here it is...
December 31st
After many delays, We finally left the West Coast of Florida for Orlando at about 1pm. We arrived at our hotel at a little after 3pm. We-my parents, sister, and myself-walked over to Islands of Adventure, our first stop on the trip. Dreading The Hulk roller coaster, we went to Seuss Landing instead of Marvel Super Hero Island. We had noticed that Seuss land as we call it looked MUCH better with all of the Christmas decorations around, much less boring and had a more grown up feeling to it. The first thing that my sister noticed in Seuss land was, well The Grinch himself trotting with a devilish grin. We followed him and saw that he was going toward a photo shoot. That is exactly what we did, hence the avatar. We didn't stay in Seuss land for long. We crossed the bridge into to The Lost Continent. We went into Poseidon's Fury, which is a light/roll playing show, with an ancient story line. I have gotten bored with this show, Ive done it 7 or 8 times now. The we went to my first new coaster of the day, Dueling Dragons Fire. I had done DD Ice before, but not Fire. Ice is better than Fire. Fire seems much shorter because of the speed involved. I liked it overall. From there I wanted to go on The Flying Unicorn, even though it is a kiddie ride, But I wanted to go on because it is the only ride you can see the new Harry Potter Park from. Well, nobody else would go on, so I didn't either. On to Jurassic Park, where I got wet!. It started sprinkling as I approached The Jurassic Park River Adventure. Thinking it was already a bad idea, we got on the ride anyway. As we started around the river looking at the dinosaurs, it began to pour. Already wet, we ascended the Raptor Containment area, i think that is what it is called anyway. Now out of the rain, only to know we were going to get soaked. The lady directing us where to sit stuck me right where I didn't wanna be, in the front row left corner, the wettest seat of all. We after ducking under the T-Rex, turning the corner and taking a plunge into the very cold water at the bottom, I got soaked head to toe. I was wet for the rest of the day. From there I went to find shelter in the Spiderman ride. Freezing my butt of in line, I finally got on the ride, my favorite ride in Islands of Adventure, I dried off a little bit. One think we had to skip because of the rain was the other 2 water rides, boo!!! lol From there, the only thing left was the Hulk.
Well, I went on, thinking maybe I might get drier. Well, I got a headache as soon as we blasted off out of the tube. When I got off I was very dizzy, but I felt accomplished. Goal accomplished. I had now finished Islands of Adventure. It was probably 6 pm by now.
We made our way to Universal Studios. The rain had cleared when I was on the Hulk. We went to Shrek first, which needs to be changed for Shrek 3. Then we went to Jimmy Neutron, which is awesome. After this, I went to check on a rumor Ill say in the next right up of January 1st. Anyway I couldn't see the rumor because it was dark. From there we went to Revenge of the Mummy, my favorite ride at Universal, but unfortunately I couldn't ride because I was still dizzy. My dad and sister went on. After that I went to Disaster. Disaster overall was as good as I had expected, and only a little better than Earthquake. The best part abut it was the new Hologram. The story behind Disaster is that a director has to make a movie and needs volunteers.
SPOILER ALERT FOR THOSE WHO HAVEN'T BEEN ON-skip down to the end of the alert if you dont wanna know.
You go into the old room with the windows that explain how they make, snow, rain, stuff like that. The new room is basically for explanation and the picking of 6 guests. In the next room, is where the hologram is. This is the Director. They did an AWESOME job with this room. The next room is where the 6 guests act out scenes. The old scene was in the boat and a person falling down stairs. Now there is somebody looking at a rock, diving at something, a grandma hoeing the yard, and 3 people doing something and then being scared by rocks. From there you move to the old Earthquake Tram. You board, the only real things i noticed different here was a new set TV's and some different effects...until the end. You run through the sequence of the old Earthquake with a little direction from the Director's assistant. Then as you ride back to the station, you are shown a trailer for the new movie, Motha Nature. This is the most hilarious trailer I have seen in a while.
SPOILER ALERT OVER
From there I went to the MIB ride. All four of us went on. We were put in a car with two hilarious older men that it was their first time on. Every time we would spin the men would be laughing so hard they couldn't shoot, it was a shooting ride. I got 3rd place out of 6th, so I was happy. When I got off, it was about 11:15pm. We were going to go over the Islands of Adventure for the Fireworks, but we didnt make it. I was standing in ......the next update!

Re: Fact789's -School Update
Well, I am now in Spring Break, which is the best thing teachers ever did, but Ill get to that later
I also crossed the half way point today, so here are my (mild) grades:
Western Humanities: 95.5 (A)
Speech: 80 (B) .....very crappy professor as noted in the fear thread
Meteorology: 100 (A) ....As if I would get anything else
Composition 2: 88 (B) .... I'm in the research process of the major paper that might interest all of you...discussed below.
Anatomy & Physiology I: 88 (B)
A & P Lab: 95.6 (A)
All grades except speech should remain the same or go up. I dont know what Speech will do, but If I get a C, ill be very mad.
Spring Break
Whoever created Spring Break, will be my best friend over the next week. Below is a list of To-Do's
1) Humanities: Finish & Type Journal
2) Speech: Research for Persuasive Speech
3) Start outline for Persuasive Speech
4)AP: Do flash cards for Ch's 6, 7, 8,9, 10, 11.
5) Comp 2: Finish reading books and online sources
6) Finish notes
7) redo thesis
8) Redo and expand outline
9) Start first draft
10)Post paper on S2k
11) Prepare for meetings with Prof's Culver and Range
12) HS Recycling W/F
13)Brainstorm best friends b-day
14) Finish Fafsa
15) clean/dust room (spring cleaning)
16)come up with numbers for s2k poll
*Green means done and blue means that it is in progress.
probably other stuff that I haven't thought of that Ill add later.
Comp 2 Paper
I have decided to do my first major research project on Hurricanes for my comp 2 class. It has to be at least, which Ill probably go over, 2000 words or 8 pages, which ever comes first. I'm going to try to cover many of the basics and a few of the intricate details. That is why I asked the anticyclone question before, (that nobody answered), I was hoping one of the mets would have answered. I havent done all of my research yet, so Ill probably find it in there. Ill post the paper or the thoughts (until I have a paper) in a new thread to be posted at the end of Spring Break.
Until then, adios from this thread!

I've decided that because you can only post numbers twice for the poll that I will post numbers tomorrow (basic numbers since its so far ahead) and revised/final numbers the day before the poll closes. In between Ill put revised numbers in my signature every 2-4 weeks, viewable by looking at my profile. The first number will appear there tomorrow, and will stay there throughout the season with the newly revised numbers right next to them.

Re: Fact789's -School Update (2-28-08)
Paper Update:
Tomorrow I will have completed all online sources in terms of reading and note taking, I will create a new thesis tomorrow, and I have a temporary outline done that I will post at the end of Spring Break. I'm going to have all hard sourced done by Friday or Saturday at the least. I want to begin a brawn draft tomorrow, and a rough draft by Saturday/Sunday.

Re: Fact789's -School Update (2-28-08)
Time for a small update:
This week is/has been a small crunch week. This week Ive had tests in Meteorology, 2 tests in anatomy with a big one tomorrow, and one in Speech and Im in the later developments of research of my paper (which Im actually behind in, the reason nothing has been posted), the beginnings of a group speech, and the finality of the second group of papers for Humanities. Tomorrow Ill also be going to a Quad event for Phi Theta Kappa. My list of out of school events is growing. In the near future, I will be going to Bay News 9, going to a meeting with the SPC president at a leadership conference (I got sucked into that one kinda-oh well, itll help me out), 2 relay for lifes, the Phi Theta Kappa induction, and Grad Bash. who knows what else? lol
All for now!

At UT, one needed beaucoup bucks to pledge the Greek social fraternities. I suspect it was because it was a public college. Not staying in the house, the Greeks were paying over $500 a month. Kept the poor white trash and Mexican students out. There was even a junior Klan frat, the KAs. I went to one of their parties during pledge week, got kicked out. But they got in big trouble one year. They held an "Old South" party, members dress in Confederate uniforms, dates like Scarlett O'Hara. The pledges wore blackface and brillo wigs, which would have been ok but they ran low on beer or liquor and sent the pledges out on a beer run.
I did, however, pledge Pi Epsilon Tau, the co-ed Petroleum Engineering honor fraternity. They didn't do much. But the Society of Petroleum Engineers student chapter at our school did a keg of Shiner in Eastwoods Park about once a month.

Phi Theta Kappa is an honor society for two-year colleges aka junior colleges. The name apparently chosen to sound similar to Phi Beta Kappa.

Re: Fact789's -School Update (2-28-08)
Today has been a whirlwind sort of day. Very similar to the weather. Hot in the morning, (possibly) rainy at night, and windy all day. Humanities at 8am....hmmm dont remember that much lol. Speech at 9:30 started normal, but soon started my whirlwind. By 10am I was talking to the Provost and the A. Provost for a speech project and things going on around campus. by 11 I was in Meteorology. by 12 I was studying for Anatomy (again). Tonight Ive got a paper to do, more studying for anatomy, and i have to set up at least 2 study groups!!! Very busy day!
