Storm of the Month: February 2008 [ Nominations ]

For the second edition of "Storm of the Month" the same rules apply. Please, take a few seconds to nominate the storm or weather event that you believe was the most significant during the past 29 days. You may nominate more than one storm or weather event, but at the end S2K members will choose only one winner.

The nomination will be open for two days. "Storms in the News" feature some of the significant weather events in February. Nonetheless, they are not directly going to the election section if a member doesn't nominate them. "Storms in the News" is a just a brief reminder of what happened during the month of February.

Let the nomination begin!

Do the Mackay, Queensland floods on Feb 15 count - 625mm of rain in 3 hours. If so, I nominate them.

Uruguay's Sub tropical storm? As in, the storm over South America now? Was that in February and can we call it Subtropical?

Those are very good questions but it was nominated as such. At the end, votes will decide, not nominations!

Wow, those are some big names out there. It's hard to compete with Hondo, but dang if the Super Tuesday outbreak can't. Ivan's also got an outside shot at this.

Plus, the normal storm contenders are pretty fierce as well. China got hammered, as I remember.
