Feel free to use it if you want. I'm from "across da rivah" on the Wessbank.

It's been all snow for about an hour but it's not snowing too hard. Certainly no accumulation like TxWxFrisco is seeing yet. Where at in Frisco? I have family that live off of Lebanon in the Starwood neighborhood.

I live in the northern part of Frisco just off El Darado Pkw and Preston...

:froze:

Still coming down at a good clip... The kids have frozen fingers and it is everything I can do to convince them that they have to get in bed because they will have school in the morning...

Wet sticky snow if sticking to everything except the roads... It has been way to warm for that...

Looks like the last and heaviest band is setting up right on top of us now... Big wet flakes coming down at a fairly heavy rate...

Few more pics...

I can confirm that it has been snowing lightly and now moderately for the last couple of hours. It is nice and white around my area (probably half inch--maybe more). This winter weather event came out of nowhere, and I believe it caught everyone a little by surprise as well. Nice and pretty event -- good to see some snow before we get into spring.

This is the second time in recent years that a cold core upper low has crossed over the North Texas region bringing us some snow. I believe the February 14, 2004 snowstorm was also a cold core upper low that crossed right over the North Texas region.

Yes, that snowfall was also caused by a cold core upper low. Here is the DFW NWS summary of that event: http://www.srh.noaa.gov/fwd/snowfeb142004.htm

I remember that Valentine's storm in 2004 - we lived in Frisco at the time and got about 4" - it was beautiful and a daytime storm.

Thanks for posting the pics.

Looks like we've been right in the middle of a band of moderate to occasionally heavy snow here in Grayson County. About 3+ inches (probably pushing 4") on my deck, the street out front is covered except for tire tracks, and it is still coming down. Amazingly, it really didn't start accumulating until about 8 p.m.

Great snow event, wish I could share it with some of you in the rest of the state. Will post pics in the morning.

Nice pics, TxWxFrisco. I'm glad some of you Texans got to see some March snow. My aunt lives just east of Brownwood (central Texas, near Abilene) and she got snow too.

It was cold and windy this afternoon, but not cold enough for snow... all rain. Maybe one day...

we got about an inch here in plano. It was really cool to watch it come down, even though were not getting any school canceled. But wow, last night around 11, i thought the storm was over for good when all of a sudden these huge flakes came down...biggest ones of the night. I wouldve taken a couple pictures but i couldnt find a camera.

Well, we hit the jackpot here in Grayson County near the Red River. Measured 4.75 inches on my deck this a.m. and given that some melting occurred overnight, I'd bet 5-7" actually fell. We were in a moderate to occasionally heavy snow band for several hours last night and at times, near white-out conditions.

Heard on KXII television this a.m. that as much as 8" fell in SE Oklahoma/NE Texas.

Roads were pretty icy very early and schools were delayed two hours in this part of the world.

Very powdery snow, tough to make snowballs or snowmen from, but the kids had plenty of fun anyway. And it was a very beautiful snow that coated everything with a blanket of white. I'll post a few pics later this a.m.

Wish I could have shared the snow jackpot with some other Texas snow geese that are wanting to honk.

BTW, saw where Joe B is talking about another big storm that could bring problems to I-35/I-10 or even I-45 this weekend. We'll see.
