shorty121 wrote:The weather is really awesome outside this morning. I went for a walk with my camera and I couldn't believe 1. how hard it is snowing and 2. how windy it is. I'm in a suburb about a half mile south of the Milwaukee city line and about 6 blocks from Lake Michigan. The wind coming off the lake is very strong! I heard just a minute ago on the news that we could see snowfall rates of two inches an hour today and I believe it. :froze:

I have no idea how much to expect we'll get through tonight though. Everyone has a different answer. Some say totals of 3-5, or 4-9, or 10-16 so who knows. If it keeps snowing like it is now though, I bet it will be high. We are closing in on the third highest seasonal snowfall total for Milwaukee since records began.

the 10-16" looks best to me.

I can't believe it, but it looks like we missed the 100" mark here in Madison!

No! I refuse to believe we're going to get more snow! Hehe. Ah, well. It's my dad's fault, you see. When we broke the record earlier, he said, "Okay, Mother Nature, if you're gonna do it, at least do it right!" :)

So much for global warming, huh? :)

It was a slow winter, snow-wise in Tulsa.

Multiple snow events (6 plus), but none that really accumulated to much.... (As compared to last year's two or three events that totaled about 18" plus, which is lots for us here down south)

Here's the worst of it this year, a week or two ago:

Nothin', really. But better than the worst winter at one of my common worksites (below)...

(Extra points for anyone who can identify the location of the pic above).

Nonetheless, I am still ready for spring!

OK, if the GFS 288 forecasts had been correct just three or four times, we could have had our snowiest winter ever.

Looks like the window for snow is almost closed here, but mid-November is less than eight months away!

It looks like Madison will be adding a little bit more to their snow total tonight into tomorrow.

There have been some impressive snows in the northland this April. Not to worry the ice will be off the lakes and everything will come alive soon. 8-)
